Message from Mrs Conrad I’m sure, like me, you have really missed going to the theatre over the last 18 months and so I was particularly looking forward to attending the Year 6 production of ‘Wind in the Willows’. I was not disappointed! The girls were absolutely wonderful – superb acting and dancing, fantastic singing and great team work shown by all. I was immensely proud of all of them and it was a fitting end to their time at the Prep School. Huge thanks must be extended to all the staff who helped with costumes, scenery and general logistics and special thanks and congratulations must go to Mrs Yalden, our Director of Music, and Mrs Gibson, The Director, whose incredible hard work and commitment made this the outstanding performance it turned out to be. We were also very proud of our Year 1 and 2 girls and celebrated all their many and varied achievements at our annual Prize Giving Celebration this week. Congratulations to you all on a very successful year!

Good News! Alana grew her hair over more than a year to donate to The Little Princess Trust. The Little Princess Trust gifted a real hair wig to her little sister, Beatrix, when she was going through treatment and Alana saw the joy it brought her firsthand. The big cut will be on Monday and she is so excited to give her princess locks to another person in need. With her family’s Ring The Bell for Beatrix Go Fund Me event in November to celebrate her sister finishing chemotherapy treatment, she helped to raise over £10,000 for Momentum Children’s Cancer charity. St Teresa’s took part in this event so we and the charity are so grateful to you all. Thank you!

Great Work! Banana Splits—Year 3 The Year 3 teachers made banana splits following the instructions that the girls had made in English using adverbs, adjectives, imperative verbs and numbered instructions. It was a lot of fun making sure Mrs Irons cut her banana in half lengthways and ensuring Mrs Cooper served the ice-cream in big enough scoops. They were delicious too! Lyla made this one from home and it looks like she added many tasty ingredients!

Smoothie Making—Year 3 Year 3 had a fantastic time with Gary and Emily from the kitchen creating smoothies using seasonal fruits, soya milk and yoghurt. They planned their recipe out beforehand, including their measurements and methods. The results were delicious!

Eco and Gardening Club During Eco and Gardening Club, the girls visited the Pond and Biodiversity Area and had a huge amount of fun finding minibeasts with nets in the pond and looking for creatures in the bug hotel. The girls found and identified a leech, dragonfly larvae, pond snails, damsel nymphs and butterflies. They took the safety element of being by a pond very seriously and I was very impressed by their prior knowledge of pond life.

Year 5 Debate and Public Speaking Club Erin, Frankie, and Grace have written this super poem about the environment for their Debate and Public Speaking club with Tilly.

Year 4 Mountains In Year 4 this week, we have been researching mountains as part of our topic and using atlases to look at the different heights. We learnt how mountains are drawn in atlases, using contour lines to show how tall they are. We created our own mountains and made them using card and foam to show the contours and different heights.

Helping Hands Club As a bit of fun in our final session this year, Helping Hands Club looked to nature and the wildlife around us to create these clever pieces of artwork. We look forward to returning to the club in the Autumn Term.

Sports News Year 5 and 6 athletics club girls took part in the Rapid Relays event on Tuesday. It was a great success and we will definitely be running it next year too! Thank you to Mrs Rowcliffe for organising it.

Well done to Chloe S in Year 6 for winning the U13 team trophy at a Quadkids athletics event at her club. She also managed to do a PB in her 600m in a time of 1 minute and 51 seconds, beating all the U13 girls and all of the boys, bar 1. Keep up the great effort Chloe!
