Message from Mrs Conrad
As we break up for the Easter holidays, it was fitting that the Chaplaincy team led a very beautiful and reflective assembly for the school community this morning and we were delighted that the Year 2 pupils from Cranmore joined us for this special occasion. Beginning with a palm procession, the children followed Sid the pony (!) up to the Chapel where the Chaplaincy team then took us through the events of holy week using short pieces of scripture, reflections and a powerful drama. Huge thanks to Deacon Simon for preparing such a moving assembly which helped us all remember the real meaning of Easter –God loves us so much, He sent His only son to die and then rise for us so that we might have eternal life. May the joy of the resurrection be with you all this Easter.

6JG—Class Assembly
Parents of girls in 6JG are invited to join us for their class assembly on Thursday 4th May 2023 at 8.30am in the Henderson Hall
Refreshments will be served in the Henderson Hall from 8.15am
Summer Uniform
Please may the girls in Years 3 to 5 return to school after Easter wearing their summer uniform. Summer uniform is optional for our Year 6 girls. However, they will be required to wear their winter uniform for special occasions such as Prize Giving and the Leavers’ Mass. As a reminder, the summer uniform consists of: pink and white striped dress; white ankle socks (not trainer socks); blazer and cardigan.

Explore Lectures
As you are aware, we are celebrating the value of Intellect this year. When we speak of ‘Intellect’, we strive to explore different spheres and topics beyond the curriculum – and just for the sheer joy of it.
Under this guise, we have organised a fabulous series of lectures on a vast and diverse range of topics to run throughout the rest of the academic year. Our eminent and exciting speakers will aim to stimulate curiosity and encourage us all (parents, friends, family and staff) to explore something new.
The lectures will take place on Monday or Tuesday evenings, starting in January. They will be held in the Sixth Form Lecture Theatre and are open to all, free of charge. Nibbles and drinks will be served from 5:30pm for a 6pm start and a 7pm finish.
Social Media - Real versus Fake.
How do you really know? Explore Lecture with Hannah Fernando on Tuesday 25th April at 18:00. Children are very welcome too.

Hannah Fernando was the news editor of Heat magazine, working her way up to edit the title. She has worked on numerous women's lifestyle magazines and currently edits Woman magazine.

This week in the Prep School
Year 4—Welcome to the USA
Welcome to the USA. Pick a state, any state! Read all about your favourite states in America; Find out about awesome attractions, fun facts, interesting information and much more. Over a 2-week period, the Year 4 girls have built beautiful nonchronological reports about a chosen state and presented them as wonderful posters. They are so informative and full of exciting facts.
Year 6—Art
Year 6 were asked to carefully draw a pinecone, paying close attention to the shape and tonal shading. Ruby G and B were awarded a Headteacher's award for their wonderful drawings.
Year 4—Dream Catchers
Year 4 will sleep well this Easter as they have completed their DT projects of beautiful dream catchers! They began by designing their catchers, using patterns and colours that meant something personal to them, be it a representation of themselves or on the theme of a particular passion. They then worked step by step to create beautiful webs, designs, and colours; they certainly are eye catching dream catchers.
Year 4—Residential
Year 4 set off on Monday on their first ever residential trip! They braved the elements to learn all about Survivor skills and Bush Craft, whilst having the opportunity to learn new skills such as Archery and Nightline. They climbed to heights of 13 meters, learnt more about teamwork and their friends, and even performed their own WildChild's Got Talent! The girls enjoyed delicious food, fantastic events and activities, guided by unbelievably brilliant staff members who created such wonderful memories for the girls. We are so proud of the girls for being such great ambassadors for the school..
Years 5 and 6 Trip to Wimbledon
On Monday, the Year 5 and 6 tennis squad went to Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Club. They learnt about the history of Wimbledon, visited the museum, played croquet, dressed up as the first ever Wimbledon champions, sat on Henman Hill and visited Centre Court. The sun shone and a great deal of fun was had!
Sports News
Hockey The U10 A hockey team went to Epsom College to take part in the Surrey Schools Hockey Tournament. The girls had a slow start and were unfortunately punished 2-0 in the first game. Despite this, they did not drop their heads and came out fighting, they managed a 2-2 draw in game 2 and 1-1 draw in game 3. In game 4, the girls were firing and went on to take a 5-1 win in their final group game. This meant the girls finished 3rd and had the 3rd and 4th play off against Notre Dame. At full time, we were 1 separate us. We went into extra time with and with less than a minute to go, Rachel H bagged a terrific goal to take a win and a bronze medal! Well done girls!
Well done Year 6 girls on a windy and wet inter house football tournament. St Ignatius took the win with 60 points! Players of the matches were: Amelia, Kaiah, Poppy, Alex, Nicci, Emma, Jess, Natalia, Elin and Evie. Well done girls! Well done to the Year 3 girls that took part in inter house football tournament on Friday afternoon, the girls had great fun and there was some excellent football displayed within all teams. to St
Cross Country
Isabelle in Year 5 who competed in the Leatherhead Park Run on Sunday. We are all super proud of her for turning up in the rain and representing St Teresa’s. Well done Isabelle!
Gymnastics On Friday afternoon, St Teresa’s took part in a gymnastics tournament at St Catherine’s. We placed first in the three out of the four age categories and five podium places. The girls had a fun filled afternoon of gymnastics, well done girls!
Rugby Well done to the U11 rugby girls that travelled to the Stoop to take part in a girls rugby festival. The girls had great fun, learning new skills and playing lots of mini matches. The girls won 1 match, drew 2 and lost 1. Great work girls!

Hop, Skip and Jump!
It was the much anticipated annual Hop, Skip and Jump event this morning! Girls and parents completed a heart shaped obstacle course around the field, whilst raising money for the CAFOD Big Lent Walk. Thank you to everyone involved - what an invigorating start to the day!

Year 5
Year 5 have been learning about structure in music. This week we talked about theme and variations and listened to some examples.
The girls then composed their own variations on Frère Jacques changing the melody, tempo, rhythm, pitch and even adding some harmonies! Excellent work girls!
Years 5 & 6 Rock Choir
Our newly formed Rock Choir has been a huge success! We have had lots of fun singing a wide range of musical styles from Disney to Imagine Dragons. We ended the term with a ‘Finish the Lyrics’ competition …. it was a draw between Years 5 and 6 (although Mrs Harris is convinced that she won!).
All are welcome to join us on Tuesday lunchtimes in the music room at 12.45.

As today we break up for the Easter holiday, we pray that the joy of Easter will be in our homes and in our hearts as we celebrate the resurrection of Christ our Lord.
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary
Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.’

We hope that you have a lovely Easter Holidays, and we look forward to being back at school on Tuesday 25th April!
Equestrian will be running lessons on the 24th April and on the Bank Holidays, but we are running on slightly different timings. The office will have emailed those who ride on the Mondays.
There have been a couple of equine virus outbreaks in the area. Those who have their own horses or who ride elsewhere, please make sure you wear a different set of clothes and wash your hands before coming to equestrian.

Roxy, Wizard and Oliver had physio treatments last Saturday and found it very relaxing! The saddler also came last Friday to have a look at the horses’ saddles and made some changes, so the horses should be a lot more comfortable in lessons.
We are all looking forward to the Easter break so the ponies can have a bit of a rest, but there are Pony Days and lessons still running.
The horse of the week is Oliver!
