Dear Parents I wish to thank the many parents and pupils who completed the survey as part of our ISI inspection. The inspection team were keen to obtain views from all sections of the Cranmore community and your input has been greatly appreciated. The findings of the inspection team are communicated to ISI Head Office and, in due course, a report will be sent to the school. You will receive a copy of the full inspection report but we do not expect this to be published before the end of term. We are been most fortunate with good weather for the Junior Department Sports this week. Clearly the children had great fun participating in the races with parents cheering them on. It seems that this spell of good weather will continue for the CPA Picnic in the Paddock tomorrow. Finally, I was delighted to attend the official launch of an art exhibition on Monday by our Head of Art, Miss Darnton, which is in Godalming Museum. Please do visit it if you have an opportunity as it runs until 8th July. Michael Connolly

Wintershall Visitors Two actors from Wintershall visited Cranmore last week to present to our Senior pupils. They acted out two scenes and played the parts of Judas and Bartimaeus. Our pupils were most impressed with what they saw and were drawn into the wonder of theatre. Mr Jakubowski Head of RE

The Lower Prep children had a wonderful time at Brooklands Museum, bringing their ‘Journeys’ topic to life. They enjoyed discovering and learning about old and new vehicles. The highlights of their day were sitting in a Formula 1 racing car and riding a Penny Farthing and climbing aboard Concorde. An exciting day was had by all!

Middle Prep, Upper Prep and Form One Sports Day Dear Parents What a great week this has been! We had two wonderful Junior Sports Days that were quite extreme, weather wise! Every child participated and finished their races. When you think that some children were only three years old that is an amazing achievement. I know the fathers in Bright Stars had a real treat on Thursday morning, breakfast in the stunning BS garden. All muffins were cooked by the children, there was such a super atmosphere. Happy Fathers’ Day to all of you! Have a lovely weekend. Kindest regards Margaret Kieran

1st XI Cricket Tour Once exams were over, the 1st XI cricket team had a very enjoyable tour to the South-West. The weather remained good and Cranmore won all three matches against Hampshire Collegiate, Dauntsey’s and Prior Park playing some excellent cricket in the process. Well done everyone!

Form 2 Ramble 60 pupils from Form 2 covered 8 miles across the North Downs on Friday 9 June in their annual ramble. They were accompanied by eight parents and grandparents and four teaching staff: Mrs Spooner, Mrs Trumble, Mr Hinds and Mr Chapman. Although it rained heavily at times, the children’s spirits remained high and the sun shone during the last few miles of the walk. Thank you to the parents and grandparents who walked with us and well done, Form 2, for walking such a long way.
Mr Chapman

Learning French the easy way! Last week, 8 pupils headed down to Lyon to spend the week with their exchange students at College Ombrosa. For the first time, we had Cranmore pupils in Ombrosa, Lyons, as well as their other school in Bourget and Voglan in the Haute Savoie region of France. With superb hot and sunny weather, many of our hosts took their visitors out to the lakes as well as up into the mountains surrounding Savoie. Harvey was fortunate enough to take the cable car to the Aiguille de Midi only just below Mont Blanc. Being immersed in the French culture and language, both at home and in school, was a challenge for all our pupils, but they rose to it and had a wonderful week and many are already planning to go again next year. The week culminated in a wonderful party, picnic, show and fireworks in the grounds of College Ombrosa on the banks of the river Saone to celebrate the school’s 45th anniversary. Mr Martin
