Dear Parents, We are well into another busy and exciting term and I look forward to seeing many of you at the various events coming up shortly. We will be continuing with the next in our programme of pastoral talks both for the children and parents on Wednesday 1 February and I would urge you to keep the date free. There is a definite winter theme in the Chronicle, following the brief snow fall last week. The younger children have produced some wonderful table paintings and Bear Grylls would certainly be proud of our Nursery children who have been building their own shelters and dens at Forest School. On the water, new challenges presented themselves for the rowers with the promise of more exciting things to come in the summer. As always, your children delight us with their enthusiasm and determination for all the new challenges Cranmore presents to them. Best wishes, Susan Walker Deputy Head

Our Lower Prep Polar explorers wrapped up warm and headed off on an icy adventure! They have been busy finding out about the Antarctic, including where it is, how cold it can get and what animals live there. They have enjoyed using globes to locate the Polar regions and learning interesting information about Emperor penguins. Wonderful clay models and paintings of penguins have been created by our Polar explorers. Next week they will be heading off on another icy adventure to discover all about the Arctic and the polar bears that live there. What brrr-illiant facts can they share with you? Rowers find out how the other half lives! The 5th & 6th form rowing squad recovered from their exams at the London Boat Show. They were taken around several of the multi-million pound superyachts with all their incredible hi-tech gadgetry. Much more fun was the pool where Rockley instructors, who knew several of our pupils from the summer watersports holiday, taught them stand up paddle boarding and kayaking. It certainly made us look forward to the South of France and the Cranmore watersports holiday in July We were then off to experience the Clipper Round the World yacht race - a rather more challenging version of our Tall Ships weekend in June.
