Dear Parents This week we were delighted to welcome Dick Moore to give a presentation on Mental Health issues for adolescents which follows on from two previous presentations covering e-safety and Relationships & Sex Education. The statistics which Dick revealed were shocking on so many fronts, particularly in respect of adolescent boys. However, he also shared highly personal experiences from within his immediate family which gave a fitting context to many of the wider issues involved. Certainly, he has raised awareness for both parents and teachers that we have to be more vigilant in identifying children who might well be experiencing something more profound that an “off-day�. Bright Stars News During the week before half term, the Pre-nursery set up a baker’s shop. We enjoyed singing ‘5 currant buns’ and counting out our cakes with cherries on the top! We also made currant bun masks and cupcakes to hang on our wall.

An MBE for Dr. Miranda Lomer The Lower Prep children and teachers were delighted to welcome Edward W.’s mother into school when she told the children about her visit to Buckingham Palace. Edward together with his father and grandmother accompanied his mother, Miranda who was awarded an MBE for services to dietetics and gastroenterology. She explained that she received the medal for improving knowledge on how to help people with digestive problems find the right foods to eat. Many congratulations to Dr. Lomer on this amazing achievement. Edward has every right to be a very proud son.
