Dear Parents We are holding our traditional Lenten Fast today which raises money for charity. Last night we enjoyed a fantastic Spring SoirĂŠe which, once again, was a marvellous showcase for the musical talent at Cranmore. Looking further ahead, we shall be hosting a live broadcast of the radio show: Any Questions? on Friday 19th May at 8pm. You may wish to make a note of this in your diary and we will provide further information in due course. Yours sincerely Michael Connolly

Dear Parents THANK YOU Last Saturday we had a number of children from across the Senior Department helping in various aspects of our Open Morning. Thank you to all of you for enabling them to be here and to the children themselves, who as always proved to be wonderful, enthusiastic ambassadors for our school. Our visitors were most complimentary about them, their guiding and conversational skills, their knowledge of the school and their talents. I look forward to seeing some of you at the Rugby Festival next week, where I feel sure the children will again prove to be excellent hosts to our visiting teams and their families. Best wishes, Susan Walker Deputy Head

Dear Parents, I would like to bring to your attention some issues regarding the car park. As you will be aware, major works are currently under way and it is imperative that great care is taken when using the car park to ensure it remains a safe environment. In order to improve the flow of traffic please: • Only use the drop off zone if you do not need to get out of your car. Should you need to help your children with their bags or musical instruments you are asked to park in the spaces provided. • Do not park on the double yellow lines that are immediately outside the school entrance. • Do not block the road outside Cranmore when waiting to turn right. Please could I also remind all drivers that the Highway Code should be adhered to whilst on school premises and simple things such as using indicators will help with the smooth running of the car park. Thank you for your understanding. Yours sincerely Bryan Smith Operations Manager

Bright Stars News We had great fun on Pancake Day in Bright Stars. We enjoyed mixing our ingredients together and ate our delicious pancakes at snack time. We enjoyed listening to Mr. Wolf’s pancakes and even flipped some pancakes in the garden!

World Book Day 2017 There was great excitement at Cranmore on Thursday, 2nd March – World Book Day – as we held a Great Where’s Wally Hunt throughout the school. 66 Wallies were concealed around the grounds and buildings, and everyone from Lower Preps to Sixth Formers searched eagerly for them. Everyone who found a Wally received sweets and a ticket to enter the raffle for a Where’s Wally book, which was drawn on Friday. All the teachers entered into the spirit of the occasion, and one even made things much harder for his class by hiding lots of Wendas, just to confuse them. All pupils should have received a World Book Day voucher which entitles them to a free World Book Day book or £1 off a full price book, at booksellers. Please contact me if you have not been given one. Happy Reading!

Mrs Trumble

Huge congratulations to all the Form 2 pupils who performed in their senior school debut performance, Heroes of Troy. It took place in front of staff and parents on Wednesday 1st March. The delivery of this famous story of Troy was executed confidently and creatively, as a dedicated ensemble. There was comedy in amongst the tragedy, making the piece enjoyable for all involved. The set, designed by pupils, costume, music and lighting added to the atmosphere, enhancing the dramatic experience. I look forward to future productions with this very talented group of pupils.
