Dear Parents This week we enjoyed a wonderful production from Form 2 centred on the Ancient Greeks and Trojans. Yesterday we celebrated World Book Day and the children had great fun participating in a “Where’s Wally” competition. We offer our congratulations to our U10 rugby team which won all of their matches in the tournament in London last week. Tomorrow we are hosting another Open Morning for prospective parents and, as ever, I am grateful to our current pupils who will be guides for this important event. Yours sincerely Michael Connolly

Lent Fast Day 2017 It is traditional during the season of Lent for us to reflect on the needs of the most vulnerable people across the world. The Senior children will be participating in raising funds for CAFOD through their traditional ‘Lent Fast Day’, which will take place here at Cranmore on Friday 10 March. The staff and boys in the Senior department will substitute their main meal on that day for a selection of soups and baguettes. Children in the Junior Department will have their usual Friday menu. Thank you for your support. Susan Walker

Last Friday we welcomed Phoebe and Katie from Guildford Challengers to our assembly. They gave us an inspirational talk about the work of the charity, providing support for disabled children and their families at the centre in Guildford. They were particularly complimentary about the insightful questions that the children asked at the end of their presentation. Our older pupils in Year 7 & 8 held a disco recently and raised the incredible sum of ÂŁ1,000. I would like to say a huge thank you the parents who were responsible for organising the disco for the children and their guests. I think a fun evening was had by all. Phoebe and Katie were quite amazed by the amount raised and told us that the money would enable them to fund 50 hours for disabled children at Challengers Guildford. Best wishes, Susan Walker
