13 DECEMBER 2021
Message from the Headmaster In the final week of term, the Christmas activities certainly put everyone in the festive spirit. On Tuesday, the whole school was suitably dressed for Christmas jumper day and thoroughly enjoyed the incredible Christmas lunch prepared by our catering team. In the days that followed, pupils in the Upper Prep and Senior School were fully emersed in the Carol Services. They are cherished events in the Cranmore calendar and were made even more special as we were able to welcome parents. On Friday, our final assembly was filled with carol singing, academic awards, merit cups and the greatly anticipated Cranmore raffle. This term has been exceptional at Cranmore with so many achievements to appreciate and special events to celebrate. We have been fortunate to play over 400 sporting fixtures; pupils have been involved in music and LAMDA exams, Action Day, Nativities and Carol Services. We have also been able to enjoy trips and attend live shows and productions. Most importantly, we have found time to continue to help support five of our chosen charities. I would like to personally thank all the pupils, staff, parents and governors for their tireless support, which has enabled us to make this term extra special at Cranmore. I wish you all a peaceful and restful Christmas break.
Mr Everitt
Getting into the Festive Spirit
There have been many festive activities taking place throughout this final week of term. One of the highlights was our annual Christmas lunch. As you can see, fun was had by all!
Christmas Jumper Day
Thank you to everyone who took part in our Christmas Jumper day and made a donation towards Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. Over £1000 was raised and will go towards supporting families across Surrey and London whose children have life-limiting conditions. Ms Schembri
Christmas Tree Festival at St. Martin’s Church
Cranmore had the wonderful opportunity of participating in the Christmas Tree Festival at St Martin’s Church in Horsley again this year. The Cranmore tree was a spectacular representation of ‘Character’, our value of focus this academic year. Each child in the Lower Prep created a decoration for the tree. The Reception children made stars to represent their uniqueness and to portray the message that we all shine brighter together. The Year 1 children decorated and produced traditional Nativity characters, as they reflected on the real meaning of Christmas. The Year 2 children created stained glass heart windows to represent the love in all of us, as well as the boundless love God has for us all. The Year 3 children created decorations with positive written character traits and names of the nativity characters on them. Mrs Stefano
Letters to Limegrove A number of the Year 7 pupils have been busy this week writing letters to Limegrove Care Home. The students focused primarily on how they intend to enjoy their Christmas this year, both at school and at home. They also wished the residents a Happy Christmas in the hope they will be able to spend at least some of it with their families. Mr Cross, Head of Year 7
