28th JUNE 2021

Message from the Headmaster Dear Parents, Our final week of term at Cranmore has been as dynamic and action packed as we have come to expect. We celebrated an array of events including Founders Day, Prize Giving, Sports Day, Young Musician and Year 7 also enjoyed managed to complete the final Ramble of the academic year. It has been an extraordinary year at the school. The pupils, their families and staff can be extremely proud of how we

came together to adapt to the many changes we faced and in the way we displayed our school value of compassion in our interactions with each other and the wider community. I wholeheartedly thank you for your support and commitment to ensuring the year was as exciting and engaging as ever for the pupils. It has been a magnificent effort from everyone, thank you. Have a wonderful summer break and I look forward to seeing you again in September. Mr Everitt

Year 7 Reviews on the popular Salsa workshop Year 7 enjoyed a wonderful workshop on Salsa dancing in the Auditorium! There were plenty of smiling faces and here are a few of their very positive reviews of the experience:

“I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop. Everybody was engaged and were also enjoying the experience. I really loved the music and the dance - the moves were very fun to learn, and I would personally, love to have this workshop again. I loved how everybody was involved, and everybody was enjoying themselves and we were not self-conscious about dancing! I also liked how the teachers also got involved (Senora Porcel-Martin, Mr Hinds, Madame Meneghin and Mr Pulford– and even the Headmaster! ), it was definitely a fantastic workshop that I and many others would love to have again next year.” Billy W

“I think the salsa class was very energetic and it was very fun. Also I think we should do it more because it is very good for our cultural learning in Spanish and good for the soul. As well, it is very nice to do something different. Also, I think we could start with a performance in assembly so that the younger children could get into it!” Josh W

“Today in Years 6 and 7, we were all given a salsa lesson. It started as quite a challenge, but after a few minutes it started to get really fun. After a while, my class and I started to get quite good. And thanks to the excellent instructions from the salsa teacher, we started to advance to new techniques! Our favourite was the mambo. Then once we mastered the technique, we put it all together into doing the salsa. My class and I really enjoyed it and I would urge everyone to give it I try. This is hopefully the first of many.” Oliver B

A Message from our Chaplain A reading from the Gospel of Mark He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” But they laughed at Him. After He put them all out, He took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with Him, and went in where the child was. He took her by the hand and said to her , “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”). Immediately, the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this, and told them to give her something to eat. The Gospel of the Lord Praise to You Lord Jesus Christ

New Life

This week hear how Jesus raises a little girl to new life. Whenever Jesus is confronted with death in the Gospels there is a Resurrection. In this time of year as we come to the end of a busy year, let us take a few moments to reflect on the many great things we have done and accomplished. Let us also think about the new challenges and adventures that are waiting for us in the coming year.
