HOUSE MUSIC COMPETITION 2018 My congratulations to all the pupils and staff who took part in the House Music Competition on the Friday before half term. With a theme of songs from the year Cranmore was founded by Canon Peter Freed, 1968, the competition was fierce. However, after some careful thought, our adjudicator, Mr Shepherd, Director of Music, Charterhouse, awarded 1st place to Radford for their fabulous rendition of ‘Build Me Up Buttercup’. Mr Harris

Half-Term Holiday Fun Whilst other people were enjoying the ski-slopes we had lots of fun here at Cranmore! The highlight of the week was undoubtedly our ‘Picnic in the Woods with Mrs Woods’! The children learnt how to lay a fire, how to light it without matches and then watched and listened as the popping corn started to change in appearance as it cooked over the fire. Pancakes were also cooked and enjoyed by the children and staff too! The children then participated in a rope trail wearing blindfolds, which proved to be lots of fun. As always they climbed trees, hunted for Sammy and Sally Squirrel and enjoyed looking for the first signs of Spring. This week we are placing eggs into our incubator. The countdown begins! The children will need to be very patient, as it takes 21 days for the chicks to grow and then to finally hatch, hopefully in time for the end of term.

Life in the Uppers Children in Upper Preps have been busy recently, with a session at Forest School where they enjoyed playing WW2 games, finding and using natural paint brushes and making a natural paste from charcoal and chalk to use as a paint. The Upper Preps were fortunate to have a visit from Dr Charlton who talked about how we can live a healthy life. She shared a variety of medical tools she uses and gave the children some wonderful advice on staying healthy. They were able to try out using Stethoscopes to listen to their breathing and tested their pulse before and after exercise. Thank you, Dr Charlton!
