SIXTH FORM NEWS

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful bank holiday weekend and a lovely sunny week.

Ariella W, a member of the Maths Masterclass project, has shared with us information about their event last Friday.

'Kirsten and Louise, two Year 12 A-level Maths students, had the opportunity to lead one of the Maths Masterclass sessions to Year 5 students, with the help of the rest of the class. The theme of the lesson was probability and students were able to use their knowledge and make dice, to allow them to see the patterns of probability and learn about the bell curve. The students really enjoyed it and are looking forward to the upcoming sessions.'

This week in the Sixth Form, we had Pastoral Check-ins for Periods 5 and 6 on Tuesday, with juice and brownies in the Sixth Form common room. It was very useful to have this time to catch up with our form tutors to discuss how the year has been and our plans for the future.

Pia, our Sports Prefect, shared how enjoyable attending the Sports Scholars’ Dinner was on Wednesday evening.

'All the Sports Scholars gathered in the Dining Hall to attend the annual Sports Scholars’ dinner. Everyone took part in a quiz and then enjoyed delicious Southern Fried chicken burgers and rocky road. After we ate, we were lucky enough to listen to Peace Proscovia, a famous netball player, who told us all about her inspirational life story and the whole room was captivated by her words. Peace also helped the Director of Sport hand out awards to some of the scholars. It was a lovely evening and very inspirational.’

We are getting ready for a very eventful day on Friday, starting with Open Morning. The Year 12s are very excited to tour parents and prospective students around our beautiful school and welcome them as they arrive. We are very proud of our Head Girl, Jadwiga, who will be giving her first public speech before the tours begin! We will then go on to a whole school barbecue in the Dining Room and will finish the day with a bang at King Fest, where a couple of members of the Head Girl Team and Senior Prefect Team can be spotted as butterflies, snails and our St Teresa’s mascot, Teresa Teddy.

Have another fantastic Bank Holiday weekend full of Coronation celebrations and hopefully lots more sunshine.
