IT’S FRIDAY, QUIZ TIME... What a turnaround since before half term, especially in the Year Group accumulator table. As we went into the mid-season break Year 13 were a long way in the lead and Year 7 definitely trailing. I read nothing into this but as we come back to school we find Year 7 have positively stormed into the lead. Well done all those amazing girls who have not only done the quiz but answered so well! Change too in the House accumulator with Francis being knocked off the top spot by Dominic. Less dramatic perhaps but still the excitement is mounting as we head into the summer.
Now – in CELEBRATION of the end of Exam Week we have a Super Special edition of the QUIZ. No trivia questions this week. No obscure quotes from some book Mr Neate read back in 1927. No crossword clues that only Dr Poffley can solve. No logic problems about liars, lions, unicorns, princes or kings. Nothing about pretending some questions are easy and some are difficult. Just puppies. Yup - you read that correctly - puppies. Small, adorable little furry things with perfect little paws and darling little tails, eyes not yet open and a very proud Mummy. Click here to complete the quiz. Not forgetting all those who still have A-Levels and GCSEs to complete who we are still thinking of and wishing them good luck. Mr Neate
St Teresa’s EnSoc is delighted to announce an exciting guest lecture on Genetic Disease and Gene Therapy, delivered by Clare Arnold. Clare graduated with a BSc in Applied Biology from the University of Bath and has more than 20 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry in both quality control and quality assurance roles. She has worked with many types of pharmaceutical products, with her most recent experience in biologics and gene therapy. Eco Tips of the Week: As we near the end of the school year, if your daughter has outgrown her shoes and they are still in good condition did you know that www.salsshoes.com will find them a new home. This is particularly environmentally friendly as shoes are relatively difficult to recycle because of all their different components.

SIXTH FORM NEWS The Year 13’s Leavers’ Liturgy Year 13 had their Leavers’ Liturgy in the Chapel on 19 May and after the service, students and their parents were invited for a drinks reception on the Mairlot Hall Lawn. Their Celebration Dinner commenced in the Dining Hall at 6:30pm where students, parents and staff enjoyed their three-course meal. The Year 12 girls really enjoyed waitressing everyone throughout the evening and being part of this enjoyable celebration. In between courses, Miss Pitchford gave a wonderful speech to everyone, followed by Pippa and me, who gave a few words on behalf of the whole of Year 12, reminiscing a few funny moments made with Year 13 over the past year. The 2021/2022 Head Girl Team, then gave their thanks to the Sixth Form Tutors, and of course Miss Pitchford, Ms Clarke and Mrs Randall. Overall, the Year 13’s and their parents thoroughly enjoyed the evening to celebrate their time at St Ts and it was a great contribution to their Leaving Festivities. On Friday lunchtime, the Year 13 students had their Leavers’ Party and Assembly. They all enjoyed a delicious barbeque, followed by a delicious ice cream from the ice cream van where Year 12’s joined them to enjoy the ice cream. Miss Pitchford enjoyed serving everyone their ice cream and we all had a great time with the Year 13’s before they left for Study Leave at the end of the afternoon. The Year 13s also had a dress code to their party; they dressed up as movie characters such as Donna from Mamma Mia to Fix it Felix! We wish the Year 13’s the best of luck for their A-Level Exams and we know that they will do amazingly well! Emma W

This Week This week we celebrated the great feast of Pentecost remembering that day when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Church. We reflected on how the Lord transformed the lives of his followers; first by removing their fear and giving them his peace, then by filling them with authentic joy and, finally, sending them out on missions to share the good news of God’s love with the world. We reflected on what that transformation might have looked like. The images on this page were taken by a photographer who wanted to illustrate the point. The images on the left were taken first and then the second images were taken. I wonder if you can guess what the photographer said to the young people? You might imagine that he said, “Smile” but this is not the case. In fact he said, “You are beautiful! (see Ephesians 2:10). When we recognise how truly loved we are, when we recognise our innate beauty, we too will be filled with that Pentecost joy!
