The Lower Prep celebrated Safer Internet Day with a variety of different activities and discussions. The theme this year is: Want to talk about it? Children and adults are asked to make space for conversations about life online. One of the activities, completed this week, was linked to a story called ‘Hanni and the Magic Window’. The story is about a girl called Hanni who has a magic window at home. When she sees something that upsets her, she struggles to explain what has happened. The story explores who she might talk to so that she can solve her problem. The Lower Prep created their own magic windows to express what they enjoy, understand and have discussed about technology and the Internet.

Nursery News

The children really enjoyed their Shrove Tuesday experience in the Nursery. They sampled pancakes with a choice of toppings for breakfast and then had fun tossing a pancake! The Pre-Nursery children had fun getting messy, mixing together flour, water and lemons for their Pancake Gloop. At Forest School the Nursery children also enjoyed making pancakes and cooking them over the fire with Ellie.

Year 2 Work on Christopher Columbus

This week, Year 2 started their new unit of significant people by learning about Christopher Columbus. Students acted out a short play about Columbus’s initial voyage to the Empire of the Indies when he ended up in the Caribbean Islands. In small groups, students acted out what happened when Columbus and his crew landed in the Caribbean. In art lessons, students used craft materials to make one of the ships that travelled in Columbus's fleet.
