Year 9 School Development Team
The School Development Team was set up in September to discuss the growth of the school, encouraging innovation and leadership. On Monday, the team were invited on a tour around the school building with Mr Everitt and Mr Savvides to hear their views and ideas on the new space. They came up with some very thoughtful ideas, including how wall art could improve the space, the use of the different classrooms and how technology can best be used to augment the pupil experience. We look forward to their continued input as pupils move into the space next term.
Our U14s represented Cranmore at the Surrey Rugby Festival on Tuesday at Caterham School. There were 40 teams taking part making up 8 pools before the knockout stages. Cranmore had some fantastic results in pool H:
vs Glyn School: 38 - 0
vs George Abbot School: 19 - 14
vs Hoe Valley School: 57 - 0
vs Reigate Grammar School: 31 - 12
These impressive results meant Cranmore progressed onto the knockout stages along with 7 schools including Hampton, Whitgift, Epsom College and John Fisher. Cranmore played St John's in the quarter-final and unfortunately lost, but it turned out to be against the team that went on to win the tournament. Cranmore gave a very good showing and should be proud of their efforts.
Racquets continued in Year 7 & 8 PE which took the form of some team badminton.
Year 9 pupil, Josh S, went overseas the week before last to represent New England Knights (Rhode Island) at Ice Hockey. He played in two tournaments, one in Florida called the Presidential Power Play cup and secondly, a tournament in Buffalo which was called the Falls Classic which was an international tournament. The team went undefeated against some very strong teams. Well done Josh.
