CRA has been supporting its client for many years and has included a successful application for the Terminal’s PPC permit, now known as an Environmental Permit. CRA designed and implemented a Site Protection and Monitoring Programme (SPMP), which was required under the former Pollution Prevention and Control (PPC) regime and which has now continued under the lifetime records approach under the Environmental Permitting Regulations. CRA has conducted various projects for the client in support of their permit over several years, and through the transition from PPC to Environmental Permit as follows: Permit application and application site report production Collection of soil and groundwater baseline data Design and implementation of regular groundwater quality monitoring (SPMP) Review of SPMP and suggested revisions Statistical trend assessment for groundwater contaminant concentrations over time Surface water discharge sampling and testing Critical equipment evaluation Bund inspection and in-situ testing Reporting Regulatory liaison CRA’s experience and knowledge of the site, its development history and operations, enabled successful completion of various projects in support of the site’s permitting requirements. CRA continues to support its client now that the installation is due to be decommissioned and the permit surrendered.
