Project Summary

Topographic Survey and Geotechnical Investigation Natural Gas Processing Facility, UK

Project Value: £365,000 Key Project Elements  Topographic and Utility Survey  Geotechnical Investigation  Infiltration Testing  Ground Geotechnical Conditions  Piled Selection  Pile Groups  3D Laser Survey  Waste Sampling  Third Party Landowner  Permit to Work System  Work in Vicinity of High Pressure Gas Line

CRA was contracted to Fluor Ltd. to complete a topographic and utility survey and geotechnical investigation in support of a detailed Freon replacement system design. The scope of work included both on-site and off-site leased property investigation. CRA is currently providing on-going support to the Fluor project team through the construction phase of the project. CRA supported Fluor Ltd. in preparation for construction activities and through the initial construction phase of a new Freon chiller system at a natural gas processing facility. The support CRA has provided Fluor to date includes the following:  Topographic and Utility survey of various areas on and off site, including establishment of a new project specific control system  Geotechnical investigation including installation of 6 boreholes to bedrock and 14 trial pits, collection of soil samples and completion of in-situ testing  Provision of wo geotechnical evaluation reports for construction (on-site) and temporary material staging areas (off-site) including summary of activities completed, pile foundation analysis, axial capacities (with P-Y analysis), pile group effect, crane foundation analysis and chemical attach potential  Infiltration testing of drainage system design  Daily reports with hours worked (CRA, subcontractor and equipment), a summary of activities completed and updated project schedule  Soil resistivity testing and evaluation for earthing system design  Utility locate (via hydro excavation) reports with information on depth, width and make of approximately 33 various utility and process pipelines  Waste sampling  Oversight and auditing of contractor’s work on site, ensuring compliance with permits to work, approved method statements and site rules.  3D laser survey of blast proof building  Coordination with third-party land owners and pipeline owners CRA worked under strict Permit to Work requirements which required health and safety documentation including site specific health and safety plan, risk assessments, method statements, equipment specification and certification and personnel training records
