We have scoured the city to find the hidden gems, new hot spots and old standbys, all with one thing in common: they’re the best of the best!

What inspired you to start your business? Ten years ago no one was putting gear and cute clothes for babies in one shop. I wanted a one-stop shop for all things baby. It makes life much easier. What do you like best about owning a business? The flexibility. I can be a full-time mom as well as a full-time business owner. It’s all about calling the shots and having the perfect schedule.

By shifting mindsets and understanding “how to,” we can all live more authentic and fulfilling lives. What do you like best about owning a business? The creativity and challenge, along with control and flexibility, to grow and apply our gifts and talents in a professional capacity and contribute to bettering the world around us. What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given? Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good. In building a business, just get started—don’t worry about having a perfect plan first. What tip would you give women who are starting a business? Focus on passions and profits—that focus will enable you to make good business decisions. Also, learn as much as you can yourself so that you can identify the right team.

My love for people and what we could accomplish collectively. What place inspires you? Colorado mountains. In the deep silence one can hear everything.

What inspired you to start your business? Combining this love with my background in marketing has provided the opportunity to think about how to create branded experiences by targeting multiple senses including taste, smell, and touch. What do you like best about owning a business? The best thing I like is seeing my ideas and concepts come to life and being able to inspire others to make their ideas a reality.

Tiffany Rose Goodyear

What tip would you give women who are starting a business? Building a business takes a village. You can’t be a success or create a successful business without the assistance, guidance and support those around you can provide.

Contributors We believe in acknowledging, celebrating and passionately supporting locally owned businesses and entrepreneurs. We are extremely grateful to all contributors for this publication.

Melody Biringer, CRAVE Founder thecravecompany.com, startupjunkie.com Innovative. Feminine. Connective. Melody Biringer, self-avowed “start-up junkie,” has built companies that range from Biringer Farm, a family‑run specialty‑food business, to home furnishings to a fitness studio. Her current entrepreneurial love‑child is The CRAVE Company: designed to creatively connect entrepreneurs who approach business in a fresh new way with the consumers they desire, as well as with each other. CRAVE is a resource for women entrepreneurs to promote their business and support like-minded women, and CRAVEguides are your go-to source for anything you could ever wish to find in your city—exclusively from women. Melody has taken CRAVE from Seattle to more than 30 cities worldwide, including New York City, Boston, Los Angeles, Chicago, Amsterdam and Toronto. Melody is a loyal community supporter, versed traveler and strong advocate for women-owned businesses. What are your most popular products or services? The global CRAVE community connects savvy business owners through online networks and in-person events. We believe in the power of collaboration among smart, successful women entrepreneurs, and we facilitate these relationships through our dynamic community. Our new online directory creates a hub for discovering women-owned businesses, with personal insights to attract followers to your business and encourage them to pursue dreams of their own. What was the motivation behind starting your business? I saw my best friend twice in a year and thought, “This is not right.” So I created excuses to get together so that we’d get it on the calendar, instead of giving it lip service. I crave girlfriend time. What is your motto or theme song? “Flashdance... What a Feeling” by Irene Cara. “What a feeling... Take your passion and make it happen... I can have it all; now I’m dancing for my life...” Every time I’m feeling a bit low, I play that song, and my spirits lift immediately. Contributors
