Goole Landscaping was awarded ‘New Business of the Year’ and specialises in full garden transformations.
Our Goole chatted to Chris Smithson to find out more about the business and what they have been up to.
When was the business set up?
I started my business in August 2018.
What services do you provide?
We install fresh turf that looks amazing. I’m a qualified arborist (tree surgeon) so we can trim or remove trees and hedges. The main focus of the business is to transform a full garden. As part of this service we can install patios, real turf or artificial grass, fencing, composite or wooden decking, pergolas and sleepers, brick work and bespoke features including garden rooms.
What makes you proud of your business?
What makes me proud of my business is that I am proud of the work we complete in our customers’ homes knowing that we have paid attention to detail to ensure that the work exceeds their expectation.
Did you enjoy your night at the awards?
I really enjoyed the awards night. Being the centre of attention at big events isn’t something I usually get involved in. The food was really good and it was really great to see other businesses showcasing their work. It’s great to support local ambitious people in our community.
How did it feel to win New Business of the Year?
Winning the award did take me by surprise. I had a lot of support from everyone in the room and I was really grateful to everyone who has helped me along the way to achieve it.
What makes you stand out?
The quality of the work we provide makes my company stand out. One of my business objectives is to prioritise quality over profit. I would rather see a project done well or not at all.
What are your plans for the upcoming year?
The business aim for this year was to transform garden after garden, but unfortunately with the lockdown restrictions this has been difficult to achieve. Instead I have dedicated time to create a better networking relationship with builders’ merchants, waste removal companies, specialist suppliers, hire companies, designers and even my competitors.
