Our Goole had a chat to Joanne Ellis, who runs the group, to find out more about the group and what parents can expect if they join.

Joanne said: “We are located at Junction Goole in the upstairs community room every Friday from 9:30am - 11:30am and all are welcome. People can drop in for five minutes’ peace or stay for the whole two hours. You can bring your children or come alone and enjoy five minutes peace! People can enjoy a free cuppa, and a biscuit and a chat. We also offer internet access and have tablets available at our weekly group for use by parents or children. Children

can use them to help with their homework and parents can access the internet, emails, search for jobs, etc. These tablets were donated to us by HEYSmile and have been a huge bonus to our group.

“Digital inclusion is an important issue and we’re so happy to be able to help with this. As well as our drop-in group, we have organised various activities and trips. We had days out to Bridlington during the school summer holidays with the help of Goole Go-Far. At Easter and Halloween we ran colouring competitions with prizes that were donated by Morrisons. We also had a visit from Sam’s Safari where the children met various animals and a visit from Goole Fire Brigade which were all very much enjoyed by
