MEET THE COVID-19 SNAKE
by CreateTVT

If you have been out getting your daily exercise around Goole, you may have seen the Covid-19 snake. It’s created by children/families placing a decorated stone in a line and as more people take part, the snake will get even longer!
Each pebble is decorated in a different way and over 200 stones now form the snake’s body.
Members of the community have also started a collection of blank pebbles that people can help themselves to if they are struggling to find one. Our Goole chatted to Megan and Demi Pollard who started the project. Megan told Our Goole: “It all came about from my sister, Demi, who saw the idea done in another town and she said ‘theres nothing like this in Goole, shall we do one near the our local park?’ “Myself and my son Noah started it off with the first two rocks and we just cannot believe how big it has got, its been so popular and I really
didn’t expect it. So far it stands at 257 stones in total! There are all sorts of shapes, sizes, colours, rainbows, nurses, ladybird, space themes. “It’s just something to keep the children busy, gives them something to do, keeps everyone connected and brings everyone together as a community. Not only the children but we now know of elderly in the bungalows nearby who go out each day to see how it’s getting on, which is all we aimed to do. A lady thanked us as her 84-year-old dad nearby has been out every day to see the added stones, which has really picked him up and brightened his day. This makes me so please as this is all we aimed to do and we have done it. We want to brighten up people’s day and make people smile.” Megan and Demi along with the whole community have showed how even in difficult and uncertain times, everyone can come together to keep spirits up. So if you are looking for a fun activity to do at home with your children, why not create your own pebble and head down to the park on Murham Avenue and watch the snake get longer and longer! HOROSCOPES June
Aquarius (20th Jan-18th Feb) Being assertive is what has helped you make progress in the past. Sometimes you have to give other people a chance to lead the way.
Gemini (21st May-20th June)
Pisces (19th Feb-20th March)
Libra (23rd Sept-22nd Oct) Be kind to those you live and work with. You may need their support and cooperation before going ahead with some of your ideas.
Someone at home is very touchy. You’re trying to make their wishes a priority but you have yourself to think of too, so it isn’t easy.
A family member or friend wants you to listen to them. Take this chance to learn the fine art of compromise. But remember, it works both ways.
Aries (21st March-19th April)
A stroke of luck makes you optimistic. You’re almost tempted to take another gamble. However, finances are unpredictable and this could backfire and get you into trouble.
Taurus (20th April-20th May)
Last month it felt as though you were up against one setback after another. This could be a sign that it is time for you to pause and reflect.
Cancer (21st June- 22nd July)
Arrange to spend more time with friends even if it’s just online chats. Finding things to laugh about will help you blast through a creative block.
Leo (23rd July-22nd Aug)
Partnerships are a major focus this month. Romance will be a happy and active part of your life and one of your most important interests.
Virgo (23rd Aug-22nd Sept) Your love life is beginning to move to the next level and everyone around you is not used to it. Put yourself and your needs first, don’t try to make everyone happy.
Scorpio (23rd Oct-21st Nov)
You need to remind yourself of your long-term goals. You will end up throwing yourself into different projects and feeling as if you aren’t getting anywhere.
Sagittarius (22nd Nov-21st Dec) Someone who is close to you doesn’t seem to be their normal self.
You feel worried and concerned about them, make sure you reach out.
Capricorn (22nd Dec-19th Jan)
The past few months have been non-stop and stressful. Use this month to unwind and reflect on what is important to you.
