Waxing for the win!

Local waxer, Louise Moss, is promoting positive body image and showcasing that waxing is for everyone

Louise, who is also known as the ‘Wax Boss’, has recently launched her own waxing business in March 2023 and aims to empower women to be body positive. If you head over to Louise’s business page on Facebook you will see it’s all about self acceptance, having a bit of fun whilst waxing and trying to normalise it.

Louise told Tadcaster Echo: ‘I want to spread the message that everyone should be body positive and promote that waxing is for all. I make it light hearted and funny. I talk about all the things that women face whether that be menopause, weight issues, periods, sex, domestic violence etc.

‘My salon is a home-based salon, completely discreet and I lock the door. I have pictures of vulvas all over the room and make the experience as fun as possible. For some reason talking about waxing intimate areas is a bit taboo and I’m trying to put it out there that it’s totally normal.

‘I left an abusive marriage so I’m now a single mum to a seven-year-old boy. I’ve overcome a lot and I’m determined to make myself a success.

‘I am an intimate waxing specialist but I do other waxing. I just perform waxing on females at the moment but I will look to expand and train to do men’s waxing too.
