SUPPLEMENTAL EDUCATIONAL SERVICES (SES) Marathon Education Group is a Mississippi approved “No Child Left Behind” Supplemental Educational Services (SES) provider partnering with parents, teachers and schools to ensure that each eligible student receives the maximum benefit from free SES tutoring services. SES are additional academic instruction designed to increase the academic achievement of students from low-income families attending Title I schools in their second year of school improvement, in corrective action, or in restructuring. These services may include academic assistance such as tutoring, remediation and other educational interventions, provided that such approaches are consistent with the content and instruction used by the school district and are aligned with the State’s academic content and student academic achievement standards. SES are in addition to instruction provided during the regular school day. SES must be high quality, research-based, and specifically designed to increase the academic achievement of eligible students [Section 1116(e)(12)(C); 34 C.F.R. §200.47(b)(2)(ii)(C)].
