heart

If reaching out to the lost is God’s heart and mission, it should be ours as well. Jesus said in St. Matthew 25:43-45, “I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.” God wants us as Christians to feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, clothe the naked, heal the sick and visit those in prison. In doing so, we minister to Jesus himself and capture the heart of the God.

Psalms 116:5 “Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; ye our God is merciful.” This scripture teaches that God is full of compassion. Compassionate in response to need, compassionate as an expression of love and compassionate at life’s turning points. Word of Faith has always and will continue to respond with compassion where there is a need and in love at the point when it is needed.
