Party Planning Spa parties are so much fun! What little (or big) girl doesn’t like to be pampered! Spa Party – lets get started: The great thing about a Spa Party is that all the party props are either given away as gifts or used as an activity. This party is easy to do yourself or, if you prefer, you can call in a beautician. Before you race off to the stores to buy lots of props and supplies, have a search at home. You may well find that you already have lots of items that you can use – pull out anything that could be useful. I find its always better to have lots of choices to inspire you. Before I put my Spa Party together, I made a pile of props including my vintage radio (suits my Spa feel and provides background music). I already had some fancy bottles, table cloths, flowers, baskets, tissue pom-poms, ribbons and fancy frames. Like most “wannabe glam” moms, I have a large collection of nail varnishes, creams, cotton pads, lotions and potions. Spa Party – lets shop: I then made a list of all the things I needed to buy. I have created a fun Spa Party organiser for you to download from my blog and use for your own personal party (this is not for commercial use). I don’t charge for this Spa Party organiser, but please could you share this post with friends on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram – whatever you use :)

Invitations Spa Party – lets invite your guests: Make sure you have sent out your invites with plenty of time for your guests to RSVP – you need to know how many guests are coming so you can plan how many spa sets you need to buy. I have matching invites that can be purchased as a printable file for home printing, or if you prefer, I can supply personalised printed invitations with envelopes and magnets.

Placesettings Spa Party – lets get set up: For my Spa Party I decided on manicures, pedicures and a simple child-friendly face mask with cucumbers. If your guests are teenagers, they may want to include make-up and bring their own selection of cosmetics and nail colours. My kids are younger so I decided on a nice palette of pink and pastel nail colours, as not all mums are happy with crazy colours! I set up a table for the manicures and facials, and a section for pedicures. For the pedicure area I set out 3 chairs with 3 foot bowls on a large towel and a stool for me to sit on (I was the beautician for the day!) :) Guests then take turns to have a pedicure.

Party Food

Beauty Treatments Don’t spend a fortune on expensive face masks when you probably have all the ingredients you need. You could pre-make your masks for your Spa Party or prep the ingredients and let your guests mix them. Spa Party Recipes Bowl 1: Cook one cup of oatmeal (according to the directions on the package) Add 6 tablespoons of honey then set aside to cool to room temperature. Bowl 2: Mashed banana. Bowl 3: Fresh yogurt. Then the guests mixed there own facemasks. (Make sure to check with parents if any children have allergies.)

Cookies & Cupcakes

I have seen a few spa eye mask cookies on Pinterest but had trouble finding a cookie cutter in Sydney. So I made a template that I cut around – if you have a cutter I’m sure it would be quicker, but if you don’t you are more than welcome to download my template. Print it on stockcard so it is easier to cut around. Cut out two shapes one for the cookie dough and one for the icing. I used this yummy recipe from taste.com.au Ingredients 125g butter, softened 1/4 cup caster sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 egg 1 1/2 cups plain flour 1/4 cup custard powder Step 1 Using an electric mixer, beat butter, sugar and vanilla for 5 minutes or until light and fluffy. Add egg. Beat until combined. Step 2 Sift flour and custard powder over butter mixture. Using a wooden spoon, stir to combine. Divide dough in half. Press each half into a disc. Wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 15 minutes. Step 3 Roll each disc out between 2 sheets of baking paper until 5mm thick.

Gift Bags Spa Party Gift bags/ Favours For my Spa Party favours I bought a large bottle of moisturising lotion, large bottle of bubble bath, lip balms, face towels, mini chocolate bars and small plastic bottles. I found it cheaper to buy little bottles then pour in moisturising lotion and bubble bath, plus you can add stickers to match your theme.

The gift tags, chocolate bar wrappers and towel wrappers that I used are included in my Spa Party Collection. I used the bottle wrapper to wrap the towels, this was a great way to personalise each party bag for your guests. I then designed matching lip balm, bubble bath and moisturising lotion labels that you are most welcome to download for free (as long as you use them for your personal party only) I would really appreciate it if you could share my post with friends on pintrest, Facebook etc :)
