Zoe Marmentini

Born in Hungary in 1978 and established in Marbella from an early age, Zoe Marmentini started her Arts studies by completing A-levels in Colchester, England, followed by a University degree in Granada, Spain. Following quite a natural evolution for anyone growing up in a family of painters, sculptors and writers, her work in the creative field ranges from graphic design & illustration to mural and fine Art.

My work flows around layers, reflections and textures. In my compositions, I make use of elements and situations that catch the eye - on a subjective level, it’s snippets from everyday life, expressions, gestures and attitudes; on a more factual level, it’s about how we live: homes, cities, neighbourhoods, shopping centres, boulevards… I feel these all make part of our natural habitat, which is unique to human nature and common to all of us, especially in a globalised world. I mix and build these components up quite randomly, using various techniques and looking for a free flow, a lighthearted stance and sometimes, If I’m lucky... a memory that the onlooker can hold as their own.
