O
nce you have gathered all the material, follow these steps. Make sure your mum or dad is watching over while you do this so that you can reach out to them when you need help. Get Ready Gather all the material required and use a flat surface like a table or a bench to do the activity. Keep some tissues or cleaning cloth ready for use in case of spillage. Make sure an adult is watching over you in case you need help.
Step 1: Designing Using your hands, poke out all the loose bits in the design template gently.
Step 2: Colour Spread glue over the back of the cut-out designs on the template. Then stick different coloured cellophane of your choice on the designs.
Step 3: Folding Fold on all the creased lines given in the template.
Step 4: Locking the bottom & Sides Turn the template upside down. The part with the loop is the top part of the lantern. Now take one of the folding edges at the bottom and push it into the hole of the folding edge on the opposite side. Then push them both down. Now repeat the same with the remaining folding edges. The base of the lantern is now locked and ready. Align the side edges in the shape of the closed lantern and glue the open side edge with the one next to it. Now your lantern is closed on the sides. Refer to the image.
Step 5: Finishing the Top Take one of the rings at the top and insert both of the lined holes on top of it. Lastly insert the remaining ring at the top on the first ring. Your Christmas Lantern is now ready!
