In 2023, dining with friends was the strongest motivation for out of home dining at Christmas, with an increase of 18% compared to the non-festive period. Light bites and sharing platters have seen a large increase in popularity due to a less formal dining environment and a higher perceived value for money between a group.

BEETROOT SOUP

Soup is your reliable single serve saviour!

We have a range of new flavours in stock for Christmas this year that, when paired with some fresh cream, herbs or croutons, create the perfect winter warmer, from even the most simplistic of kitchens.

Whilst we stock many soups ready to heat and serve - here’s a recipe Creed Chef Joe Oliver thinks would go down a splash this Autumn Winter.

serves 2

Ingredients

• 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil

• 1 Onion (chopped)

• 1 Large Garlic Clove (crushed)

• 2 Large Fresh Beetroot (peeled & chopped)

• 1 Carrot (roughly chopped)

• 1 Medium Potato (peeled & chopped)

• 900ml Vegetable Stock

• 1 tsp Vinegar

Method

1. Heat the vegetable oil in a saucepan.

2. Fry the onion for 5 minutes until soft.

3. Add the garlic, beetroot, carrot, and potato. Continue to cook the vegetables while stirring until they start to soften.

4. Add the stock and bring to the boil. Simmer for 20 minutes until the vegetables are cooked.

5. Stir in the cider vinegar, allow to cool before using a blender to liquidise the soup.

6. Serve and garnish with cream.

In 2023, the burger category made up a huge 42% of menu share amongst all restaurant types in the UK, making it a nation favourite go-to dining selection (GlobalData 2023). We believe when it comes to ordering a burger, the bigger and juicier, the better! The growth we’ve seen in the ‘mini-treat’ mission amongst consumers has been enormous over the past couple of years, with customers often opting for these smaller sweet indulgences over full meals out. In fact, across the UK it is not uncommon to purchase pastries and cakes for between £4-5 per item!

Whilst the demand is high, the competition is too, and with 70% of consumers stating that they enjoy sweet baked goods with a spin on tradition (Dawn Global Bakery Trends Study, 2022). We suggest decorating and dressing your treats for the festive season, to add the taste of premium to your grab and go offering.

BLACK FOREST GATEAU HOT CHOCOLATE

Ingredients

• 1 Scoop Zuma Dark Chocolate Powder

• Dash of hot water

• 2 pumps Sweet Bird Cherry Syrup

• Milk

• Cherry Method

1. Add Dark Chocolate Powder to a cup.

2. Add hot water and make a paste.

3. Add syrup and mix well.

4. Stir in steamed milk.

5. Top with Italian Meringue and a Cherry to garnish.

ITALIAN MERINGUE

Ingredients

• 100g Caster Sugar

• 25ml Water

• 50g Egg White

Method

1. Put the sugar and water into a small saucepan over a medium heat with a thermometer resting in the liquid.

2. Start to slowly whisk the egg whites either in a stand mixer or with a hand-held electric whisk until just starting to foam.

3. Heat the sugar until it reaches 121°C then slowly pour into the egg whites whilst still whisking.

4. Turn the whisk up to full speed and whisk until cooled to room temperature – the meringue is now ready to use.
