Logo and branding design. I enjoy all aspects of logo design from initial research and idea generation through to ďŹ nal design and implementation.

Opposite: How the logo would look in single colour and example of letter headed paper.

This particular logo was created for a graphic design company. They wanted to appear the clear choice in the market, almost as if ‘fate’ had intervened in the process of choosing. I developed the idea of playing cards and the fanning of said cards to strengthen the idea of choice. (having to choose a card in a card trick)

Below: Business card that continues the playing card theme.

Illustration Design. One of my passions and particular strengths is illustration.

Opposite: The ďŹ nal piece, drawn with ink and coloured in photoshop.

This piece was created to inform people of the BBC Media City UK, opening in Salford Manchester. I wanted to convey the feeling of fairy tale meets the real world.

Below: Images from media city uk and original ink drawing.

Layout Design. Opposite: Magazine articles created in Adobe InDesign.

The examples of work seen here are all created using Grids. I find grids a fundamental tool in design, and allow shape to form in any work. The Magazine pages featured in an on-line collection all about ‘Interesting Manchester’.

Below: A poster for a fictional event at Manchester museum of science and industry.

Further Design Examples The pages that follow contain varied pieces of work that I have created.

Opposite: A character I illustrated for ‘James and the giant peach’.

From illustration to poster design I have tried to include what best reflects my creative side.

Also the final book cover which was entered in to the Penguin books cover design award.

If you require to see any of my work please contact me on the details provided. Regards Neil Brogan

Below: The rest of the characters all created in ink and water colour.

Bottom page: Logo and business card i designed for a Beauty company based in Wigan.

Above: This poster was in response to a re-design Brief. I took on the task of breathing life into a product which had poor brand visibility.

This Work relates to a Brief in which a store was to be created. I designed several items including Window displays, food packaging and service equipment.

Above & right: Advertising the mini brand. the posters main theme is the idea of change. the campaign was to highlight to the customer that they could customise their own car.

Left page: A Re-design of the Wigan Little Theatre logo. Showing in situ, and how it could be adapted with colour.

Thank you for taking the time to look at this rough guide to some of my design work. Design is something I'm deeply passionate about, it excites me and gives me a way to express myself in any way I feel. I'm currently working on a portfolio web site which I hope to be up and running very soon. As well as design I enjoy photography and list tattooing as a hobby.
