Comments: The Crescent School Investment Team’s portfolio has officially been closed out for the rest of the 2015-2016 school year, with all of our holdings liquidated on Friday, April 29, 2016. A final report will be released before the end of the year to summarize portfolio performance in greater detail; stay tuned! In brief: this year was a great learning experience for the entire team. While the benchmarks clobbered our portfolio in the last two months of our year, each team member managed to grow through the learning experience. From watching the TSX graze bear market at the beginning of the 2016 year to the more recent bullish runs of energy and gold, we have been able to learn more about the stock market efficiencies, as well as consumer confidence in the market. Furthermore, through the process of investing in 14 stocks, we learned about the research processes required for investments, and were provided the opportunity to assemble and present stock pitches. What a year!
