She has been hunting since before she was big enough to walk through the woods on her own and love the challenge that comes with it. Caitlyn is an honor roll student and is a girly girl just like all the other girls in her school but when it comes to hunting she can hang with the big boys (men). Just because you love something doesn't mean you are going to be good at it. However, she loves it and is good at it too. ARREST MADE IN LIQUOR STORE BURGLARY January 13, 2020 On January 5, 2020 Robert’s Package Store was broken into causing damage to the store and also a large theft of property. After an investigation by the Humboldt Police Department with the help of the Jackson Police Department Andre Summers a black male 40-years-old from Jackson, Tennessee has been charged with Burglary, Vandalism and Theft of Property. Summers is being held in the Madison County CJC on charges filed in Jackson on Burglary of a Package store there.
MAN CHARGED WITH RAPING GIRL FOR SEVERAL YEARS WREG STAFF MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A 60-year-old man was arrested and charged with raping an 8-year-old girl over a period of several years. The girl’s mother filed a police report in July. The girl told investigators she had been raped by the man beginning when she was 5. James Malone, whose last known address was in Raleigh, was charged Jan. 10 with rape of a child. Court records show he is in the Shelby County Jail on $200,000 bond. His next court date is Jan. 29.
THIRD FORMER JUVENILE DETENTION CENTER EMPLOYEE CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH THE ESCAPE OF FOUR TEENS Nashville - Former Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center employee Tierra Foxx, 28, has surrendered on an arrest warrant charging her with facilitating, by recklessness, the November 30 escape of four teens. She is the third former staff member to be charged. The investigation shows that Foxx, who worked for Youth Opportunity Investments, asked a master control operator to send an elevator onto which the four teens had boarded to the basement after being requested to do so by one of the teens. That action is seen as a significant contributing factor to the escape of the four, the last of whom was recaptured on December 12

MOTHER FACES MULTIPLE CHARGES IN LIBERTY TECH ALTERCATION Madison County Sheriff John Mehr confirms an altercation occurred this morning at approximately 7:15 at Liberty Tech High School. SRO’s were advised that a woman with green hair had entered the school without signing in and was heading upstairs. Deputies immediately went to the second floor and observed multiple individuals fighting , that the school staff were trying to separate. Deputies learned that the woman with green hair was a parent and later identified her as LaToya D. Boyd. Upon further investigation it was determined Mrs. Boyd had gone upstairs and directed a student to whip another student, who was nearby. The student she spoke to subsequently attacked another student who was nearby. A male student who was watching, also assaulted the victim and a school administrator, who was attempting to break up the fight. Deputies also learned that LaToya Boyd stomped the victim during the assault. Deputies arrested LaToya Boyd as she tried to leave the school. Warrants for burglary, assault, disorderly conduct, child abuse and neglect, reckless endangerment and contributing to the delinquency of a minor will be sought against LaToya Boyd.
MAN TORTURED WITH DRILL, BEATEN INSIDE SHED MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A Memphis man was arrested after police say he and several other suspects tortured a man in the shed behind a Berclair home. Terrance Collins, 29, was charged with especially aggravated kidnapping, especially aggravated robbery and possession of a gun during a dangerous felony. The victim told police it all started after he asked a female acquaintance to give him a ride to a Nutbush home. Instead, the woman and two males took him to a home in Berclair. That’s when three males forced the victim into a storage shed in the backyard and began beating him, demanding his property. After losing consciousness, the victim woke up to the suspects asking for the PIN to his debit card. He refused to give them the information and thatís when they allegedly drilled a screw into his left hand, all while continuing to beat him. Police said the suspects also used the drill to cause injuries to the man’s left arm, head and leg.

Bobbie Greene has worked for Waste Management for 15 years, serving as the Senior Operations specialist. She recently filed and official complaint regarding bullying and psychological harassment at the Jackson facility. “It’s simple,” said Greene. “Management in the shop Bobbie Greene does not know how to talk to people.” Greene first registered a formal complaint against Waste Management in 2007 with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) of Memphis, TN and Waste Management. “I filed a sexual harassment complaint in 2007,” said Greene. “However, after an investigation by the Human Resources Department it was determined that there was no wrongdoing. They actually concluded that the male co-workers in question regarding the claim were only ‘horse playing’.” Greene says that over the years, it appears as though her complaints have fallen upon def ears which in turn has lead to medical issues. Greene, who has been away from Waste Management since June of 2019, says she suffered a nervous breakdown as a result of bullying from supervisors on the job. In fact, she’s been under doctor’s care ever since. The bullying and harassment escalated each time I reported a situation said Greene. “The workplace environment became toxic for me. The daily emotional abuse and unreasonable job request eventually took their toll on me,” claims Greene. Representative Todd updated the people on the session of the General Assembly which convenes Tuesday By ‘Downtown’ Rickey Brown January 14 in Nashville . rickeylynnbrown@hotmail.com Representative Todd expressed his opposition to Governor Bill Lee’s position and executive order of accepting new ìrefugeesî into the state of Tennessee. Todd said “is a lot of push back regarding Governor Lee’s accepting the refugees primarily due to the fact it will be another drain on the State Of Tennessee’s resources and taxpayers having to foot the bill for the refugees medical and assistance programs along with their families.” “Governor Lee seems to have sympathy on the refugees who are being persecuted in their counties for their religious beliefs and he strongly feels that Tennessee should accept its share of those,” added Todd “We understand the Governorís approach however the legislature seems to be moving towards addressing this matter and possibly overriding the executive order,” said Todd. LANE COLLEGE LEADERS WANT FORMER LINCOLN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BUILDING January 7, 2020- Brittany Kyles WBBJ JACKSON, Tenn. - “Lane College has a strategic plan that involves having a more significant impact on east Jackson,” said Richard Donnell, Lane College President’s Senior Advisor. Included in this plan, is what Donnell said is the “Miracle Mile,” a 10-block area, that will provide additional resources leaders with Lane believe will help the east Jackson community. Within those 10 blocks is the former Lincoln Elementary School, a building Lane College leaders want to acquire for three uses. “One in academics, one in cultural enrichment, and one in recreation,” said Donnell. As far as academics, Donnell said Lane College plans to help students interested in pursuing teaching. He said the property will also help with more space for their sports teams to use for practice. “And as far as cultural enrichment, we will use that to assist the community in the arts and sciences and STEM programs,” said Donnell. Donnell said the college’s “Miracle Mile” will be a 10-20 year process, but as soon as the school board and city give them approval to acquire the property, Lane wants to begin as soon as possible. Jackson-Madison County School Board Chairman Pete Johnson said the board is talking with the city, to get the Lincoln Property over to Lane’s ownership.

I would prefer the school board use these buildings for JMCSS student enrichment programs or something for the parents of our low income students. I didn’t agree with the bailout of lambuth either but similar to Lambuth Lane is in Deep Deep financial troubles. So even with the building how can they afford to finance this 10 yr. plan if they cannot even afford to purchase the buildings? What has LC done with Lane Crest Appts since they were basically given that property??? CV -James Vaughn I wholeheartedly agree that indeed the growth of private schools has hurt public education in Jackson Mad Co. However the origin of this problem doesn’t lay at the foot of JMCSS but rather the County commission and the city who provide the necessary funding or lack there of. Take our current situation in Mad CO, the ‘bank’ of the county so to speak is the county commission they divide up funds as the see fit. Recently they decided it was more beneficial to the taxpayers to invest funds in a 60 plus million dollar jail and invest 20 or 30 ( I can’t remember off hand) in JMCSS. I don’t blame the school system because of lack of funding and I definitely don’t blame segregation. It’s the funded body who holds the responsibility DB - B Anthony Marable- I agree with you whole heartedly! Why is this community so against Lane college? Lane college has turned out great leaders with very little Finances. Most of the student who are at Lane are from low income, 1st generation families. They are there to better themselves and their situation. With out Lane college that would not happen. We as a community are not very supportive to Lane. However,† the Lambert community was very supportive to help them. The school system is investing in building our teacher force. This is a win-win for both institutions. Everyone knows that I am a proponent of using JMCSS buildings that we already have however, since we are not using the building, why not help poor students and the community in which they live? Our tax dollars are used for every other projects in the city† that doesn't benefit us, So why not use tax dollars that will benefit our community. Rather then complain, ( we all need some tax deductions), why don't we give to Lane college to help poor students) and Lane with their financial situation.

LANE COLLEGE RECEIVES AWARD FROM TENNESSEE NATIONAL GUARD JANUARY 13, 2020 - WBBJ 7 EYEWITNESS NEWS STAFF JACKSON, Tenn. - Lane College received a special award Monday.Lane College received the Minuteman Appreciation Award presented by the Tennessee Army National Guard. This option allows students to go to Lane College and have the Tennessee Strong Act reimburse 100 percent of their tuition after the semester. “They’ll have to come here stress free without having to get a loan and have to pay for that loan at the end of the semester,” SSgt.
