Police: Crooks bash truck into business, make off with $60k inÊclothes 505 S. Bells St., Alamo, TN
Gavontai McDonald
POSTED 4:56 AM, OCTOBER 23, 2018, BYÊDAVID ROYER,Êwreg.com Franklin Bacon (left) and Lordellro McCullough MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man crashed a stolen pickup through the wall of a Parkway Village menswear store before several others rushed in with garbage bags and stole $60,000 worth of clothing, Memphis Police said. Police responded to a burglary call around 1:15 a.m. Oct. 15 at Superior for Men clothing store on South Perkins, where they found a large hole in the north wall of the business and a gold Ford F-250 King Ranch pickup inside.ÊThat pickup was later discovered to be stolen out of Jackson, Tennessee. En route to the business, officers also spotted a black Dodge Charger and a red sedan packed with clothing speeding away from the scene. A pair of Rockstar pants fell out of one of the vehicles, police said. Store surveillance video showed six men rush in with garbage bags to collect the clothing after the truck crashed through the wall, police said. The men then got into three different vehicles and drove away. A Crime Stoppers tip led police to Franklin Bacon, who was allegedly selling True Religion and Rock Star Blue jeans in a neighborhood. On Monday, police spotted Bacon and Lordellro McCullough in a car leaving the Rivertrace apartments near Sycamore View and Raleigh-Lagrange. Bacon and McCullough have both been charged with burglary, theft over $10,000 and motor vehicle theft in the crime. Both men confessed, police said. In addition to the stolen merchandise, police said the burglars caused $80,000 in damage to the building when they crashed the truck through it.

DON’T GO TO JAIL!
October 19, 2018ÊÊJulia Ewoldt JACKSON, Tenn. — A potential suspect in the death of a woman whose body was found in her east Jackson apartment appears in court. After taking his children across the state and having a standoff with police in Chattanooga, 23-year-old Keon Stewart is back in Jackson. Stewart appeared Friday morning in Jackson City Court. His ex-girlfriend, Amanda Northern, was found dead Tuesday in her east Jackson apartment, leading to a search for their 2- and 3-year-old children. Stewart was wanted on a violation of probation charge when he was arrested Wednesday in Chattanooga. Court documents show Setwart previously pleaded guilty in two separate aggravated assault cases. Northern was the victim of those two assaults. Stewart was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days of probation, with a stipulation. “The warrant states that he had prior domestic assault charge and was ordered to undergo the domestic violence 26 program, 26 weeks,” Judge Blake Anderson read. Stewart is accused of not attending those classes or reporting to probation. “ You were on probation. You didn’t report, you didn’t go to your domestic violence 26 classes,” Anderson said. Stewart said he believes he is expected to be in court for a hearing on a child support case as well. Stewart is now being held at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex pending a revocation hearing. Stewart has not been charged in connection with Northern’s death, though police say they do plan to question him. Police say the children were in child protective custody after the standoff ended.

1 Million Lethal Doses of Fentanyl was Inside Suitcase Flown to Nashville from Phoenix
10/18/2018 - Nashville Nearly 5 pounds of what was initially believed to have been cocaine concealed in a suitcase flown into Nashville International Airport has been determined by the MNPD Crime Laboratory to be the conservative equivalent of 1 million lethal doses of fentanyl.ÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊÊ In January of this year, law enforcement in Nashville was alerted by DEA agents in Phoenix that luggage checked by airline passenger Reem Ibrahim was found by the TSA to contain a large bundle that appeared to be marijuana along with 2 kilogram-sized packages wrapped in plastic.Ê When Ibrahim arrived in Nashville and claimed 2 checked suitcases, she was stopped by law enforcement and allowed a search of her baggage.Ê One suitcase contained approximately 25 pounds of marijuana and the 2 kilogram-sized packages, which initially field tested positive for cocaine.Ê The other suitcase contained an additional 25 pounds of marijuana.ÊÊÊÊÊÊÊ Ibrahim, 22, of Phoenix, claimed that she had been promised $1,000 to deliver the luggage to Nashville.Ê She said that she did not know illegal substances were inside.Ê Ibrahim was arrested on charges of possessing cocaine and marijuana for resale.Ê The cocaine charge will now be amended to reflect that fentanyl was the actual substance being transported here.

Ê 10-17-18 - A pair of former police officers in Biscayne, Florida were sentenced to up to a year in prison this week for their role in framing a black teenager for a string of burglaries. The Miami Herald reports that former Biscayne Police officers Charlie Dayoub and Raul Fernandez were given the maximum one-year sentence this week, even though they had hoped to avoid prison time altogether by cooperating in an investigation implicating former Former Biscayne Police officers Biscayne Police Chief Raimundo Raul Fernandez , left, and Atesiano. Charlie Dayoub, right. U.S. District Judge K. Michael Moore slammed prosecutors for only recommending home confinement for one officer and a one-year probation for the other. “It would have been a slap on the wrist, and it would have sent entirely the wrong message — particularly to the minority community,” Moore said during the sentencing. “To think that they can come into court and get a slap on the wrist is insulting to the men and women in law enforcement.” Both officers had given grand jury testimony implicating Atesiano, who pleaded guilty last month to conspiring to deprive suspects of their civil rights by pressuring his officers to frame innocent men of color for local crimes.

MADISON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE INCREASES IMPAIRED-DRIVING ENFORCEMENT DURING HALLOWEEN Jackson, TN] – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) for Booze It and Lose It from [October 26-31], surrounding Halloween. Booze It and Lose It is a statewide campaign to increase impaired-driving enforcement and reduce fatal crashes. Sgt. Richard King said “The Madison County Sheriff’s Office will be looking for impaired and distracted drivers in our 24/7 Patrol efforts this coming weekend through next Wednesday, Halloween night.” Increased state and national messaging about the dangers of drunk driving, coupled with increased sobriety checkpoints and high visibility enforcement, aim to drastically reduce the number of drunk-driving crashes, injuries, and fatalities this year. The consequences of a single DUI conviction for a first-time offender in the state of Tennessee may include costly fines, court costs, legal fees, jail time, mandatory drug and alcohol treatment, and/or the installation of an ignition interlock device in his/her vehicle. The THSO provides grant funding to support the Madison County Sheriff’s Office increased enforcement efforts during the Booze It and Lose It holiday campaign. For more information about the THSO, please visit www.tntrafficsafety.org.

WOMAN INDICTED ON CHARGES RELATED TO BRITNEY ALLGOOD STABBING RELEASED ONÊBOND MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 19-year-old woman was released from jail on bond after a grand jury indicted her on charges related to the stabbing death of another woman in July. Bianca Sims (left) was indicted Oct. 2 on two charges related to the death of 18-year-old Britney Allgood(right): aggravated assault, and tampering with evidence during the investigation of Allgood’s death. Court documents state that Sims assaulted Allgood with a motor vehicle, and later deleted her cell phone call history and Facetime history with Allgood when she knew an investigation was happening in the days following Allgood’s death. Jail records show she posted $30,000 bond and was released from Jail East over the weekend.
