COUSIN KILLS COUSIN AT FUNERAL FORREST CITY, Ark. A Forrest City man is charged with shooting and killing his cousin during a visitation at a funeral home on Friday night. Police say they were called to the Miles J. Kimble Mortuary and Cremation for a shooting call on South Washington. According to police, Christopher Reed shot Curtis Allen. Allen was taken to the Regional Medical Center, in Memphis, where he later died. Reed was found on a nearby street and arrested. Witnesses tell WREG that the two men got into an argument which escalated to shots being fired at the funeral home. "Two cousins got into arguing and whatever," a family member said. "They just had it out and started shooting." It happened while the two men were at a visitation for Allen's father who passed away. Funeral Director Miles Kimble says he was forced to take cover as the shots rang out. "Traumatic for many. You wouldn't think you would experience something like that," Kimble said. "Others could have been injured and thankfully they were not. That's the biggest blessing." Family members say the feud between the two men dates back for years. They say they never thought they would have to begin a memorial service for a family member while they were paying their respects for another.

3 Women Charged With Beating, Robbing Man In Car In Lincoln Park CHICAGO (CBS)Three women from the Milwaukee area are accused of beating and robbing a man in the Lincoln Park neighborhood this past weekend. The incident happened at 3:25 a.m. on Saturday in the 2000 block of North Sedgwick Street, near the six-way intersection with Lincoln and Armitage avenues. Officers saw the women beating the man and tried to pull the car over. But they lost sight of the car, and the women dumped the man out of the moving car onto the street, police said. Police put out a flash message over the air and found the car, which they successfully pulled over in the 1000 block of West North Avenue near Sheffield Avenue. Police found that the 24-year-old man had been robbed. He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center with injuries to his face.

RAPPER POP SMOKE MURDERED IN HOME INVASION ROBBERY Pop Smoke, an up and coming rapper, was shot and killed Wednesday morning in what appears to be a home invasion robbery ... TMZ has learned. The rapper was at a home in the Hollywood Hills at around 4:30 AM when 2 men wearing hoodies and masks broke into a house ... this according to law enforcement sources. We're told the 2 men fired multiple shots, striking and critically wounding Pop Smoke. The men were seen fleeing on foot. Pop Smoke was rushed by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood where he was pronounced dead. The suspects have not been caught and as far as we know they have not been identified. It's unclear if Pop Smoke knew the shooters. One man was placed in handcuffs but cops determined he was not involved and was released. Pop Smoke released an album back in July and one of the songs, "Welcome to the Party," blew up ... it was considered by many the song of the summer. Nicki Minaj did a remix of the song a few months later. He also did a song, "Gatti," with Travis Scott.

FUNERAL HOME EMPLOYEE CREMATED BY MISTAKE WHILE TAKING A NAP By David Woodward On Feb 20, 2020 An employee of a Inman, South Carolina Funeral Home & Cremation Service died this morning, after being accidentally cremated by one of his coworkers. According to the Police, 48-year old Paul Houston decided to take a nap one a stretcher after working for sixteen hours straight. While he was sleeping, another employee mistook him for the corpse of a 52year old car accident victim and carried him to the crematory. Before anyone could notice the mistake, he had already been exposed to temperatures ranging between 1400 to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit and reduced to ashes. Jenna Anderson, one of Mr Houstonís coworkers, says she heard him scream for about 15 seconds after the crematory was activated. At first, we didnít understand where the sound was coming from. When we realized what was happening, it was too late. We shut down the heating system, but he was already dead. Ms. Anderson claims that the young coworker who caused the accident was a new employee, and had forgotten to check for the toe tag to make sure he had the right body.

Thursday, 02-27-2020 CrimeSEEN Join me in congratulating my dear friend Laverne Hardin as the CrimeSEEN Examiner Newspaper Reader of the Week! Examiner News Laverne is the evening store Manager at Bowling Convenience Store located at 26 Bowling Green drive.

CAPITOL TALK I had the pleasure to attend the first Capitol Talk at the Jackson Chamber on Friday. Despite arriving a bit early there was standing room only as there was a most impressive list of local leadership on hand to hear what their state representatives had to say. As always Ryan Porter did an amazing job as State Senator Ed Jackson, State Representative emcee of this event as he facilitated the conversation Johnny Shaw and State Representative Chris Todd. among the panel and distinguished guests on hand. I suspected education would be on the agenda and there were many in attendance representing their institutions such a Dr. Dub Oliver and Dr. Jason Garrett from Union University, Dr. Martha Robinson from U of M Lambuth as well as Dr. Jared Myracle from JMCSS. There were also members of the school board in attendance as well. The major topics of conversation were related to education, justice reform, and more access to healthcare. There was also conversation about sanctuary cities, refugees, and reduced funding for non-profits such as WRAP and Matt Marshall was in attendance as well. The trio of legislators were presented with a gift from the Jackson Firefighters with a monogrammed plaque for each one for their efforts on their behalf. Representative Chris Todd pointed out the 600M proposed in the governorís budget for education and an increase in teacherís salaries across the state. Representative Johnny Shaw questioned why there was not money earmarked for early childhood developed and suggested state funded Pre-K and free Daycare. When asked where the funding would come from, he recommended getting the money from the ESA program which he suggested would be an upcoming disaster to implement. Sen. Jackson spoke of introducing legislation to enable the state to have more TBI agents in each county across the state. All the legislators were available for questions and comments after the meeting as JCM Librarian Dinah Harris and I questioned Sen. Jackson and the other Representatives about SB2896 and HB2721 which were aimed to create oversight boards at all public libraries to decide whether material would be deemed sexual material or age appropriate. We are very fortunate to have legislators that are willing to face their constituents and discuss their efforts on their behalf. Representatives Johnny Shaw and Chris Todd will be up for re-election this year. Don Polley Contributing Writer The Madison County Commission voted down the proposed $100 wheel tax by a vote of 12-11. The wheel tax had been proposed which is a flat fee that vehicle owners in Madison County would have paid when they registered their vehicles yearly. According to Madison County Clerk Fred Birmingham he estimated that between 80,000 and 85,000 vehicles would have to pay this fee if approved. A $100 wheel tax would have generated about $8 million annually in revenue for the county. The wheel tax failed to receive a two-thirds vote required by the county commission. The final vote was 12 to 11 . The following commissioners voted yes on a wheel tax; Brett Beckham, Scott Brown, Cyndi Bryant, Jay Bush, Jason Compton, Gary Deaton, oey Hale, Adrian Montague, Harold Petty, Billy Spain, Doug Stephenson, Mike Taylor Voting no on the proposed wheel tax; Carl Alexander, Jimmy Arnold, Katie Brantley, Claudell Brown.
