West Tennessee OUTDOORS

Coming back to the Great Outdoors of West Tennessee for a weekend fishing adventure with friends and with Ray Jones family is a yearly adventure for SEND THOSE PHOTOS TO many people including Ken numberonecoach@hotmail.com or 731-694-8614. Jones. He grew up in West Tennessee and learned to fish on local ponds and lakes. He now lives in Nashville but returns to his roots regularly to enjoy some of the best fishing in Tennessee. As a youngster growing up Ken always liked bass fishing and became quite skilled at it over the years. He prefers shallow diving plugs and spinner baits to entice his bass. He uses a medium to slow retrieve which allows each cast to remain in the water longer. Slower fishing requires more patience but it gives fish a longer chance to see the bait as opposed to fast retrieves. Regardless of what method is used just returning home to fish with good companions is always worth the drive for Ken. Invite you good friends to return to the Roots of West Tennessee and tell them to bring the kids too so they can feel the excitement that only the Great Outdoors of West Tennessee has to offer. by David Thomas May 1, 2018 The early results set the tone and four incumbent Madison County Commissioners lost in the Madison County Republican Primary, Tuesday. Brett Beckham, Tommy Gobbell, Carl Alexander and Jeff Wall all but guaranteed Jeff Wall themselves a seat on the County Commission after what some may consider surprising wins on a day when 4,612 votes were counted. Beckham eked out a 27 vote win – 236-209 – over Larry Lowrance in District 3, Position 1 and Tommy Gobbell held off Gerry Neese 273 to 197 in District 3, Position 2. Carl Alexander kept the momentum going in District 8, Position 1 by defeating Jim Ed Hart, 372 to 156 County Commission, and Jeff Wall completed the sweep when he picked up 342 votes compared to ‘Smokey’ Joe Roland’s 311. The four winners will not face opposition when the General Election is held August 2. “We had a rather slow day in Madison County, but we made some big decisions for our county,” Kim Buckley, administrator of elections said. “We had a good accounting of our election … we feel pretty good about these numbers.” - wnws.com
