MAGIC COWBOY RIDES AGAIN
Training horses comes natural to Lovie Marable and it is as much a part of his daily life as eating and drinking water is to the rest of us. He goes to sleep after just getting done training and wakes up the next day only to get started all over again. He has taken his talents to Illinois to become a professional trainer for harness horse racing. That is where the rider is on a small buggy pulled by the horse in a fierce race that last about 2 minutes or less. Horses must maintain a specific gait or be disqualified with most horses being trotters or standard bred. Lovie first trains the horses to have good attitudes in order to maintain the required gait to compete. He trains the horses to develop a trust between the horse and rider. When this is complete he can begin training the horse to use his natural ability. Lovie has used his skills learned right he in the Great Outdoors of West Tennessee to entertain spectators all across the United States. PHOTO IS LOVIE MARABLE TRAINING TWO RACE HORSES.

To hide affair, MARRIED ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL KILLS TEACHER PREGNANT WITH HIS BABY in front of her 3-year-old daughter
December 10, 2020 Constitutional Nobody Crime USSANews.com A former assistant principal in Louisiana was indicted on various criminal charges Tuesday in the 2016 shooting death of a pregnant colleague and her unborn child. Robert Marks, 42, is accused of fatally shooting Lynette Washington, 40, leaving her body in a ditch in Rosedale, and abandoning her vehicle — with her 3-yearold daughter inside. Washington was seven months pregnant with Marks’ child, according to The Advocate. Marks allegedly left Washington’s vehicle a block from her apartment. Police reportedly found Washington’s toddler daughter wandering near the parking lot of the apartment complex with blood on her feet. The girl told officers she was with her mother and “Mr. Robbie” when she heard a loud bang and saw him cleaning up blood, according to the news outlet. Washington was an instructional specialist at Brookstown Middle Magnet, where Marks was an assistant principal. Authorities believe Marks — who is married — killed the teacher because he did not want anyone to know he had fathered her unborn child. On Tuesday, a judge moved Marks’ case from East Baton Rouge Parish to Iberville Parish amid confusion as to where the 2016 slaying occurred. Authorities initially said they believe Marks killed Washington in East Baton Rouge Parish and discarded her body in Iberville Parish. However, The Advocate reported that cell phone records from the night Washington vanished suggested several locations where the slaying might have occurred. Investigators said they found no evidence of a crime scene at Marks’ home in Zachary, Washington’s apartment, and a landfill near Zachary. Detectives said they discovered a large quantity of blood in Washington’s car, The Advocate reported. In light of the indictment in Iberville Parish, second-degree murder and feticide charges were dropped in East Baton Rouge Parish. In Iberville Parish, he is charged with second-degree murder, feticide, kidnapping, aggravated kidnapping of a child, obstruction of justice, and various gun-related violations. Marks, who was initially indicted in October 2016, was transferred to Iberville Parish jail on Tuesday. His bond was set at $885,000.

Robert Brown and Christopher Osteen escaped Friday morning from the Northwest Correctional Complex in Lake County, Tennessee. Brown is serving an 18 year sentence for aggravated rape and Osteen is serving an 8 year sentence for burglary, Since their escape, the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force has been working in close conjunction with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Tennessee Department of Correction and numerous other law enforcement agencies to affect their capture. JMCS Superintendent Dr. Marlon King Community Outreach
Jackson Madison County School Superintendent Dr Marlon King continues to reach out to the people in Madison County sharing his vision for the students of our community. Dr. King and Dr. Ricky Catlett joined Downtown Ricky Brown and Coach Joe Holloway for an opportunity to listen to Dr King’s vision for our school system. Dr King said “the Lord continues to lead me to challenges” and the warm professional welcome to the JMC schools has been tremendous. It’s been a “challenging year in Education.” Dr. King shared many accomplishments with us during his short term as Superintendent. As our education Columnist, Mr. Don Polley also shared in his column “Dr. King has set the stage for a successful 2021 at JMCSS. Dr King has appointed a great team of leaders with Dr. Ricky Catlett, who have a vested interest in the success of JMCSS. Dr King’s continued openness to the public along with his transparency with the help of Greg Hammond, communication director, and Mr. Corey Currie has created positive relationships with the media. Dr. King said teachers are performing above and beyond this fall and students are making history by learning on campus. “It was a blessing having meet Dr. King months ago in his quest to provide our children the best education opportunities available,” Coach Joe Holloway said. “I’m a strong believer in public education and encourage the people of Madison County to continue to support our new School Superintendent as education starts at home. Dr. King has ignited an excitement in our schools I’ve not seen in years, certainly together with the support of the Board of Education and community, we can build the strongest education system in the state. Dr. King and his staff will continue to reach out to the community and share the progress of our schools with everyone.

2020 Has Been A Challenging Year in Education!
The good news is that within every challenge lies opportunity for those with a growth mindset and an eye towards the future. There is much to be optimistic about with regards to JMCSS. Based upon my experience in the past leadership matters and let us take a moment to reflect on what has transpired in 2020. Dr. Marlon King has accomplished a tremendous amount in a short period of time to set the stage for a very successful 2021 at JMCSS. He has not done this alone of course, but under his guidance he has assembled a phenomenal leadership staff of past and present educators each familiar and vested in JMCSS. He has gained the trust and respect of the business community and the Jackson Chamber. He has developed a working relationship with both city and county governments. In addition, he seems to have enlisted the cooperation and support of the school board to support his vision for the future of our students and community. In my humble opinion JMCSS was in distress prior to the pandemic. Thank goodness for the capable stewardship of Mr. Ray Washington in the interim between superintendents. Dr. King has established transparency with the help of his communication director Mr. Greg Hammonds and Mr. Corey Currie, with the local news media outlets and social media. There is also a JMCSS app that can be downloaded for your mobile device.
Empathy is a powerful tool in developing effective teams!
Relationships are built with understanding and trust. The stakeholders in education are realizing that their input is considered and student outcomes are the focus of any decisions that are made.
“Great thoughts speak only to the thoughtful mind, but great actions speak to all mankind.” ~Theodore Roosevelt
Teachers are performing above and beyond this fall and I salute all students that are making history by learning on campus. Students understand that you are setting the bar for future generations in education as it will never be the same after COVID had passed. Just keep in mind that the “New Normal” will have a place for the exceptional. There are already discussions about year-round schooling to offset COVID-slide and enhance learning utilizing technology. I suspect that the day is coming when reasons will be evaluated but there will be no excuses. Start today and replace distraction with focus and procrastination with perseverance. #WinningTogether

Assistant Attorney General Responds to FaceBook post with Confederate Flag
December 9, 2020 Mr. Richard Donnell, Thank you for your email from December 7, and your kind invitation to be on Community Feedback. Although I must respectfully decline that invitation, I would offer you the following response and explanation, confidant in the knowledge you will communicate it accurately and in its entirety. I first want to state that you are incorrect – we have not only met, but had lunch together several times in the home of Mrs. Shirlene Mercer. I was, as were you and many others, in regular attendance at the luncheons, birthday parties, etc., held in her home. Her daughter, Tina, is one of my dearest friends and would be happy to confirm these details. Regarding the picture itself, it was taken over ten years ago and was taken as a parody of the white folks that take such things seriously – a joke, if you will. I understand quite clearly why that flag stands as a symbol of oppression, and regret that the photo is being taken out of context to support a narrative the precise opposite of its original intent – to show the absolute absurdity of such racism and hate. I appreciate you reaching out to me personally and giving me the opportunity to address these issues. I apologize if this picture has caused any pain or concern. Again, that was the opposite of its original intent. I have spent my entire professional life in Jackson. My greatest regret is the position it has put Black members of the community, with whom I have developed years-long relationships, in defending me. A single photograph, taken out of context, cannot define a lifetime of character. Sincerely, Lee R. Sparks
Just the facts By Q. Jerome Martin In the 1500’s house floors were made of dirt. Only the wealthy had something other than dirt. Hence the saying, “DIRT POOR.” The wealthy had slate floors that would get slippery in the winter when wet, so they spread thresh (straw) on floor to help keep their footing. As the winter wore on, they added more thresh until, when you opened the door, it would all start slipping outside. A piece of wood was placed in the entrance-way.

Peabody’s Khalik Ganaway wins 2020 Mr. Football award for Class 2A December 8, 2020 Alex Northcut -wbbjtv.com NASHVILLE, Tenn. —Peabody junior running back Khalik Ganaway was voted this year’s Mr. Football winner in Class 2A, becoming the second consecutive member of the Golden Tide program to do so. This season, Ganaway was a vital piece to the Peabody offense, leading the rushing attack as the primary figure in the backfield all the way to another undefeated season and third straight state title for Peabody. Following Tuesday’s ceremony, Ganaway’s message was simple but true, as he gave the blueprint for what it takes to earn the title Mr. Football. “Hard work and dedication, most definitely,” said Ganaway. “Take the time to try to actually be the best you can. Never take any breaks on and off the field.” Ganaway will now look to make even more program history in 2021 by becoming the first Peabody player to win the Mr. Football award twice in a career.
