ARIANNE CRISTIEL "I find the selection process of these publications totally amazing since I normally have to travel several kilometres to find my stuff... and as one of my passions is travelling, doing a trip from another trip is fantastic, a unique experience. When I have all the material that I am going to work from I always try to give life back to the oldest photo or most surreal image. Then I take out all the fantasy I have inside me. Sometimes I know what I want but most of the times it is a random process and it is the collage that finally surprises me once it is finished. Arianne (Caracas, 1987) is a Spanish-Venezuelan artist from Ourense descent. She works the analogue collage from a "romantic" point of view, since she does not use any computer technology to create his works, which explore mostly the "free association concept". Her work consists of a comprehensive compilation of some previously defined material. Cut outs from magazines or very old books are mixed in with more recent objects and papers: .

I work with plants a lot because the mere fact of cropping them brings me peace. Plants give me a sense of familiarity and protection. They remind me of Galicia. The female theme is another one of my recurring subjects. It is something I will never cease to explore because, actually, I am a female. My women are their own heroines. My women dream, live, cry and imagine they live in a pastel pink colour world where everything they try can become a reality. " .

CARMEN REIG She likes to create double meanings so she often uses symbolism to express these themes. She enjoys mixing animals, fashion, nature landscapes or symbols. All her collage art is created by the influences of her life background, her inspirations and subconscious. Anything can be a source of inspiration for her. She likes to see how the images form and create meaning when she puts them together. Her purpose behind her collages is to give back a new life to these “forgotten” magazines and also to celebrate art in her personal way.

Carmen Reig is a Valencian collage artist based in London. Through her collages she expresses the relationships between people, their surroundings and their emotions.

Her aim with her collage art is that you, the viewer, can make a connection on an emotional and personal level. Her art can celebrate special moments or feelings that you’ve experienced or simply make you think and smile. If you can make a connection, then she is happy to have reached you through her art.

FERNANDO GONZALEZ All his works have a white background. This colour gives harmony to all his works and it also makes the spectator concentrate on those elements that are hidden. Green is another recurring colour in his work.

Fernando Gonzรกlez (Madrid, 1993) is a student teacher who started in the world of collage by pure chance in 2016. An old "Very interesting" magazine is the cause of him being here today. His work is totally analogue, because according to his words "there is a more direct and visual contact between the elements that make up a collage and my person, building bridges between my world and a blank space I have to shape"

When making a collage he first chooses the character or characters that will be the main axis of the work. Some collages are then created by chance and others are carefully planned. Both models present different challenges. The planned ones have some very specific elements that sometimes it takes a long time to find. In those that are created by chance one must find the elements that fit perfectly with the character "and that is often complicated." The themes that keep repeating on his works are the woman, love (heterosexual and homosexual), nature, the Innocence (represented by the figure of the child), and fantasy (versioning classics like Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan or Little Red Riding Hood).

LUCIA BERRA Her collages have helped her embark on a journey of self- discovery, reveal dreams and wake up her creativity, allowing her to create her own universe, reflect on identity, the complexity of the mind and the process towards healing. She works the collage combined with touches of watercolor, geometric collage, vintage collage, minimalist collage and lately the 3D collage and the DĂŠcollage.

Lucia ( Buenos Aires, 1984) is a Franco-Argentine collage artist based in Madrid. She became fond of the technique of manual collage just over 3 years ago and has not left the scissors since. She uses fashion and film magazines and books to give new meaning to images that were not meant to be together.

All her collages are hand-made and she never uses digital technologies or touch-up her images. It's pure cut and paste! She likes to use parts of the human body, especially women and combine them with nature. The strength of women is what inspires her the most, although she sometimes uses male models always trying to portray their more feminine side. The passage of time is another one of her favorite themes, combining people with watches or parts of them.

MARIA ELISA QUIARO Since 2015 collage has had a very important place in her life and her work has been featured in books and magazines in Australia, USA, Spain, Italy and England. Two things have shaped her life since she can remember: images and words. She grew up under the influence of pop culture, science fiction books and TV commercials. As a child one of her favourite pastimes was to create imaginary worlds. In every medium she uses fragments are given a new function to recreate a totality. She wants to reflect a contemporary sense of life with all its metaphysical complexities and contradictions where the impossible is not anymore. Maria Elisa Quiaro is a Venezuelan mixed media artist based in Germany. She started studying Arts in Venezuela and later completed an MA of Arts Ceramics at the University of Wales. She defines herself as constantly experimenting, pushing the boundaries of her materials driven by an insatiable curiosity and passion for what she does.

On this exhibition she presents the series bird-clan. She defines what she does with collage as finding resonances in the composition. At the end a collage is more than the sum of its fragments‌It has something playful in a dreamlike world, where the apparent simplicity of the universe leads to deeper connotations.

VERONICA GRAN

After a long career in the world of photography and after a sabbatical year in Australia and Southeast Asia in 2015, she realises that photography falls short to express what she wants and begins to draw. It is at the beginning of 2018 when eager to continue exploring and expressing when she decides to start exploring the world of collage. The technique of collage allows her to investigate all these topics very well because through images that already exist (forms, essences) she can create new ones. This is what really fascinates her, the creation of new forms on the basis of material that already exists, that has already been created previously by others. It is a technique that makes her feel very free, very deep and satisfied. It is like working in collaboration with others without exactly doing so.

Verรณnica Gran (Alicante 1973) graduated in Sociology specializing in Marketing and Advertising. She started in the art world through photography and studied photojournalism in the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2008).

The aim of her work is not other than the of the self-exploration and the expression of what she IS, but if she was to talk about some other goal outside her it would be to share her energy with the world.

XAN SERANTES

Juan Alfredo Amil Serantes, (A CoruĂąa 1954) is a prominent businessman, painter and collage artist born in Galicia and settled in Tenerif since 1972. He is a self-taught artist who from the very beginning focused all his attention on Impressionism. He has been painting for more than 20 years but it is not until more recently when Xan Serantes stands out in the art world, finding his own voice in the Collage, the technique he feels most identified with. "I start from a central point, and from there I try to find harmony in colour. My ultimate idea is to transmit people certain feelings that I experience when I am composing the collage. I always think about what I am feeling or how I feel when making my collages. I do what I do because I like it and I do it mainly for myself. But if someone wants to see things from my point of view I will always be very grateful. The collage can transmit infinity of emotions in one single piece. "
