Design strategy This collection is inspired by the painting Dynamic Suprematism by the Kiev born artist Kazimir Malevich. Malevich founded the Russian abstract art movement Suprematism, which is based in the application of the fundamental geometric forms. It was artistically revolutionary and explored a new freedom of expression which was absolutely abstract. Shapes have length and width, forms have depth. Squares and triangles develop into forms such as cubes and cones as they are transformed into three dimensional. Focusing on fundamental geometric shapes like squares, rectangles, circles and triangles, I would like to explore pure geometric three dimensional forms. The artist’s paintings were composed of flat, abstract areas, multi layered symbols and mystical feelings of time and space. He wanted to create a type of non-objective art which would allow him to break from all references to the real world and focus particularly on pure form. Malevich traced the evolution of Suprematism in three stages: first black, then coloured, and finally white. I will focus on the first stage, black colour. Characterised by the absence of light. The overall brand aesthetic is a balance between clean lines and graphic details, mixing minimal and maximal elements. Using multiple layering for opaque volumes. Stretchy fabrics make it ideal for creating cozy and comfortable clothes. A/W 17 is all about creating a laid back, effortless look. This season woman is not afraid of expressing herself. She choses clothes that allows her to show individuality. This customer has a creative background. The collection is dedicated to the customer who loves and enjoys exploring life.

The Views Above Ungendered Code Cristina Gonzalez del Peso
Design strategy We are born, assigned a sex, and sent out into the world as male or female, to reference social and cultural differences rather than biological ones. Sexual anatomy is insignificant to who one is and what one does. I dream of an androgynous and genderless society where we can enjoy freedom from the male-female gender classification. Unfortunately we do not live in such a world, and gender remains to divide humanity into two types and gender remains the division of humanity. Inevitably there is a mark of biological diversity and even though it is the 21st century, society still positions people into classes. In my opinion fashion should not be predetermined by physical anatomy. Gender is the complex interrelationship between an individual’s sex and one’s internal sense of self. Fashion should be boundless and suitable for either sex. A way of expression. Androgyny includes dressing in way where one is unable to tell gender identity. With my design I want to express a desire for the unconventional and the exceptional. Breaking the rules from the ordinary. Layering feminine and masculine clothes together makes an undetermined outfit. The pieces that can be worn separately either for men and women although mixing them together makes the individual question which gender it belongs to.

Costumer Profile They are people who are up to date with the latest developments in the fashion industry and want fashionable and modern yet unusual and uncommon outfits. They do not care very much about the price although they would not pay more than £250 for a unique jacket which for the customer it is a reasonable price. They can be either a man or a woman, they belong to any culture, social status and political ideology as the clothes they are buying celebrate diversity and stay away from the stereotypes. They are interested in film, music and art. They also love visiting art galleries all over the world, and enjoy creating in their spare time. Above anything they are interested in fashion. Always looking for avant-garde clothes to stand out from the crowd. They like the urban aesthetic of sportswear. Vests, hoodies, t-shirts, sweatshirts and jogging bottoms are a must in their wardrobe. Kenzo, DKNY and CRES. E DIM. are among their favourites brands.
Archangel Cristina Gonzalez del Peso
Design strategy This collection is inspired by historical religious icons from the fanaticism of my grandmother for the religion. And the connection between the role of the angels in Catholicism and the figure of woman as the symbol of the femininity. Angels are found in just about every religion and culture throughout the ages. It is an angel that appears to Mary to tell her that she is with child, and an angel appears to Joseph to tell him that Jesus will be God’s son. It is also angels that appear to the shepherds in the fields to announce the birth of Christ. Today people believe they have angels looking after them. The beauty of the angels plumage is a reflection on attention to wings in all its delicacy. A hushed palette of harmonious tones, clarity white turns soft and cloudy next to chime grey that provides a pure, calming effect. Soft apricot emerges as an important colour. It is sweet but no too sweet. Refined silhouettes take on a new form, shapes are flowing and feel comforting on the skin. Minimalist loose clothes, allowing the body to become free from restriction in fabrics as light as air like sheer organzas, matte nylon voiles, superfine tulles and mesh. Use in multiple layering for opaque volumes.

Make it Better Cristina Gonzalez del Peso
Design strategy Make it better sounds like a promising tittle for a project at least is what I thought when I was told what was the project about. After a research on the brands sold at Grace and Mabel I ended up choosing the one that would suit my taste better. American Vintage is a French brand with stores in many countries. That makes young casual and trendy clothing along with accessories. They use basic shapes in colour blocks no patterns usually. The designs are clean and simple yet functional. That gives American Vintage a fresh touch. As England is a country known for its rainy days I choose PVC fabric to make a coat that could match with everything as it doesn’t have colour and also can be functional for those days. I decided to add blue details. As I was inspired by denim jacket I used blue topstitch and ribbon to highlight the seams at the back of the coat as it is a key feature of the denim jacket. So then along with the trousers it can be wear as an outfit. The election of Scuba fabric for making the bottom was an easy choice. I knew how I wanted them to be so it was very straight forward. I looked for a loose and weight fabric to make them easy to wear either in a casual or smart way. I came up with the idea of using transparent PVC rainy coat and a pair of indigo blue trousers straight shape, ankle length using Scuba fabric.
