Mandatory Awareness Concepts Who’s the fisherman? First of all an enthusiast, then an athlete, and certainly an ethical man. All characteristics and virtues necessary to understand more than others how the world in which he practices his passions, needs to be preserved as well as for everyone’s quality of life, also to continue to allow him to practice his vital passions. It is from small things added up that great results are obtained, like the attention to choose “nature-friendly” components, using disposable accessories made out of natural materials , which have a disturbing purpose much less burdensome than petroleum derivatives. PLA, to be produced, uses 30% less thermal energy than any base polymer derived from oil (-CO2 produced, less fossil fuels used, zero chemical residues). PLA to be transformed requires lower temperatures and pressures than the processing of traditional polymers (further reduction of the energy impact) Each component in PLA once used, returns to be usable in total motion, because it reintegrates in nature, in addition to having the possibility of a fractionated reuse. It does not accumulate in an additional way like oil derivatives. The only macro duty today, but not tomorrow, lies in the higher general costs of the finished product, due to process activities that are still not very massive and consequently not economically optimized, but if implemented at general volumes, even if only halved, compared to the volumes of process of traditional plastic materials, would get a cheap draw.

How much is a micro action worth to impact less on the perturbation and the health of our earth?

Certainly much more than the difference in the cost of PLA components towards traditional polymer components!

PLX BIO SPOOLS What is the bio spools material?

PLX is a poliattic acid, a polymer derived from plants such as corn, wheat, or beet, rich in natural sugar (dextrose). How is PLX produced? Dextrose is converted into lactic acid through a fermentation process, and then into versatile polymers, which can be used to produce resins similar to plastic or fibers. Why is

PLX an environmentally

friendly material? Because it is produced from natural resources renewable annually. once used, PLA products are totally compostable.

Why is corn used? Natural sugar is essential in the PLX production and corn is currently the most abundant resource in the world.

Is PLX biodegradable and compostable? Yes. What is the difference between biodegradable and compostable?Biodegradable materials can be decomposed in very small parts, thanks to a biological activity and changes in the chemical structure of the material. Instead, the materials that, when exposed to certain conditions, decompose totally, leave no visible or toxic residues, are defined as compostable. A tree twig, for example, is not compostable because it decomposes too slowly. In other words, composting is the complete biodegradability process.

How long will a spool of wire in PLX completely break down?

It takes 6-8 weeks, within industrial composting facilities. In optimal composting conditions, PLX products decompose in 8-12 weeks. And if abandoned the component in the environment, due to forgetfulness or act of incivility it will reach the complete dissociation, in surrounding environmental and biological conditions ideal, in about 50 months, compared to any traditional polymer, for which there is no possibility of composting nor natural neither induced, being only polluting material, as it is outside the recycling circuits. the PLX is structurally not very tenacious and to ensure that the mechanical characteristics increase it is necessary to give a structure to the polymer matrix using fibrous materials, which in order to maintain the compostability and biodegradability prerogatives must be based on wood or its derivatives.
