Dear, Croatia as a prominent Mediterranean destination has been recognised and acknowledged on the world tourist map as one of the market leaders in the Mediterranean. The data on the growth of tourists’ arrivals and overnights from the “new” outbound markets as well as the increased interest for further expansion sustain this claim. A century long tourism tradition, well preserved and protected cultural heritage, safe environment, orientation towards the sustainable development of tourism, incremental activities performed by the inhabitants in the less developed tourism areas create an image of Croatia which has as its prerogative the strategic importance of tourism for the overall Croatian economy. The common goal of all stakeholders in both public and private sectors is to persist in increasing the competitiveness of the Croatian tourism based on the principles of sustainability and excellence and thus to establish the foundation for new investments and modernisation of the existing as well as the new tourism capacities. Destination management, attention dedicated to each and every gust, quality upgrade of tourism products and development of the new ones represent the utmost priorities of the Croatian economy. The realisation of these goals shall generate even better results despite the economic limitations presently tormenting the global community. The exotic beauty of the tourism-oriented Croatia has been further revealed in the numerous specialised magazines: according to the Sunday Time Travel Magazine readers’ opinion Croatia has been voted the third best European destination in the 2011 European Beach Destination category; National Geographic promotes Istra as one out of ten most beautiful travel destination in 2012; the New York Times has listed Dubrovnik among 16 must-visit cities in 2012. Moreover, the ADAC - German Automobile Club - positioned Croatia at the third place among countries for 2012 tourists holiday travel by car. More and more frequently Croatia has become a destination hosting the European and the world elite, show business and royal celebrities. Thus, Prince Harry spent his vacation on the Island of Hvar, while the Oman’s Sultan Qaboose Bin Said Al Said sojourned in Dubrovnik. Jon Bon Jovi came to Croatia with his family. The Russian oligarch Roman Abramovič as well as Michael Schumacher, the famous German Formula 1 driver, cruised along the Croatian coast. Angelina Jolie visited the Brijuni Islands. The list of guests visiting Croatia is fairly long; the list of those returning is even longer. Welcome to Croatia!
