Unterstützt durch das EU-Programm Creative Europe lädt uns das Festival wieder zum filmischen Erkunden europäischer Lebenswelten ein. Crossing Europe 2022 erobert das Kino als sozialen Raum zurück und ist ein bewährter Ort des lebendigen filmkulturellen Austausches. Ich wünsche viel Erfolg und freue mich auf das Erlebnis von zeitgenössischem europäischen Autor*innenkino!

EN The view of Europe, combined with current and socio-political issues, characterizes the program of Crossing Europe 2022. Supported by the EU program Creative Europe, the festival once again invites us to explore European living environments on film. Crossing Europe 2022 reconquers the cinema as a social space and is a proven place for lively film-cultural exchange. I wish you great success and look forward to experiencing contemporary European auteur cinema!

Mit dem Crossing Europe Festival wird Linz wieder zum Zentrum des europäischen Kinos. Es ist eine ideale Möglichkeit – nach der cineastisch herausfordernden Zeit – Lust auf gesellschaftspolitisches und zeitgenössisches Filmschaffen aus Europa zu wecken. An sechs Festivaltagen bietet Crossing Europe unter der neuen Führung von Sabine Gebetsroither und Katharina Riedler eine handverlesene Auswahl von rund 140 Kurz-, Spiel- und Dokumentarfilmen. EN With the Crossing Europe Festival, Linz will once again become the center of European cinema. Over the six days of the festival, Crossing Europe, under the new management of Sabine Gebetsroither and Katharina Riedler, offers a hand-picked selection of around 140 short, feature and documentary films. I wish the audience a lot of fun and special live film experiences!

In neuen Händen. Nach 18 von Erfolg gekrönten Jahren liegt die Leitung des internationalen Filmfestivals Crossing Europe – einer der kulturellen Höhepunkte unserer Stadt – in neuen Händen. Sabine Gebetsroither und Katharina Riedler werden mit ihrem Programm sicherlich den Ansprüchen des Fach- und Kinopublikums gerecht werden. Fans können sich schon jetzt auf unkonventionelles Kino aus Europa freuen. In diesem Sinne wünsche ich den Veranstalterinnen und allen Beteiligten einen ebenso großen Erfolg wie bisher!

EN In new hands. After 18 successful years, the management of the international film festival Crossing Europe – one of the cultural highlights of our city – is in new hands. With their program, Sabine Gebetsroither and Katharina Riedler will certainly meet the demands of the professional and public audiences. Fans can already look forward to unconventional cinema from Europe. With this in mind, I wish the organizers and everyone involved just as much success as before!

Wir und unsere Gesellschaft brauchen den persönlichen und kulturellen Austausch mehr denn je. EN We and our society need personal and cultural exchange more than ever. After a period of restrictions, isolation and amplification of opinions in our own bubbles, we need a culture that makes us aware of the diversity and the world of others. European film and Crossing Europe are a wonderful invitation to all of us. I wish the new festival directors all the best.
