There are so many great things about Christmas!

Good stuff to eat

We like to eat our favorite Christmas cookies like gingerbread men and sugar cookies cut into fun shapes and snack on our favorite candies like Christmas fudge and peppermint candy canes.

Cool things to see

There are lots of interesting things to see at Christmas time—lots of decorations and Christmas lights are put up this time of year.

D

id you know that on the very first Christmas God gave you a very special gift? It’s true! God loves you SO much that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to be born in a manger on that first Christmas many years ago. The Bible, God’s book, tells us—This is how God showed His love to us: He sent his only Son [Jesus] into the world to give us life through Him. 1 John 4:9 Jesus came because of the “bad” things we do and say which are called SIN. Sin pushes us away from God.

Christmas presents

Isn’t it great finding a Christmas gift with your name on it? Most of us hope there will be more than one just gift for us under the tree. And many people think that’s what Christmas is really all about—getting lots of gifts.

When Jesus was a grown man, He died on the cross for our sins. He was buried and three days later He was raised from the dead. God offers all who trust (believe) in Jesus the gift of everlasting life. The Bible says… Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son [Jesus], so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life. John 3:16 The Bible says that if you trust (believe) in Jesus, your sins will be forgiven and you will have the gift of eternal life.
