Recognize that only God can save you...not because you are trying your best or because of your religious efforts, but solely because of what Jesus Christ did for you on the cross of Calvary. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). Confess that you cannot save yourself, that you are a sinner worthy of God’s righteous judgment. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). Believe the good news that Christ died for you and that He arose from the dead and now lives to save all who come to Him (Hebrews 7:25). “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). Rely upon God’s sure promise, not upon your feelings. By faith declare you are saved by the
blood of Jesus Christ shed for the forgiveness of your sins. “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God” (I John 5:13). If you have not yet received Jesus Christ as your Savior, you can do so in words like these: Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and cannot save myself. Thank You for sending Jesus as the payment for my sins. I believe that He came to earth, lived a sinless life, died for my sins, and was raised from the dead in order to conquer sin. I trust in Your promise that by believing in Jesus, I can have eternal life. I accept Jesus as my Savior and ask You to help me to live my life for You.
