Have you ever seen a field full of pumpkins? Or big piles of them in church parking lots or in front of stores in the fall? Did you know that every single pumpkin you see is special? Just like snowflakes, no two pumpkins are exactly alike. No wonder it takes so long for some people to pick one out!

Him. That something is called sin, and we all have sin in us. The Bible says, “All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Sin makes us do bad things, like lie, cheat, or disobey our parents. The only way to make sin go away is for someone to take it away for us. And since God loves us so much, He sent His own Son, Jesus, to take away our sins by dying on a cross.
That’s because God made every single pumpkin DIFFERENT!
The Bible says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
God takes very special care when He makes pumpkins, but He takes even MORE care when He makes YOU and helps you grow. You are far more special to Him than any pumpkin or any other plant He has ever made.
When we have faith in Jesus and accept what He did for us, He takes our sins away. Now we can talk to God anytime. And since Jesus rose again after He died, we will live forever too—in heaven with Him someday!
In the Bible God says that He loves you and knows you very, very well. Since God loves you and made you, He wants to spend time with you too, but He can’t. Something stops
