WELCOME TO THE HUB Experience the power of the innovative transdisciplinary approach to launching and learning offered at The Hub. Leveraging the combined power of the University of Dayton and The Entrepreneurs' Center, The Hub enables a unique approach to growing entrepreneurially. As the largest university-anchored innovation Hub in the country, UD students have resources and opportunities to learn at the most experiential level. The Hub houses the UD Crotty Center, which offers a distinctive approach to entrepreneurship education with experiences such as starting their own microbusinesses and regular contact with successful entrepreneurs. The Hub is also the new home for classes in the College of Arts and Sciences, entrepreneurship courses, and The GEM, which is a social innovation incubator for the Institute of Applied Creativity (IACT).

OVERVIEW OF THE HUB The Hub's mission is to be the Dayton region's Hub for new venture creation and social innovation. In addition to its academic learning spaces, The Hub offers coordinated and centralized resources for the region's entrepreneurs, innovators, builders, creators, and inventors. Learn more about what The Hub has to offer through the video below.

The videos above and below are introductions to the space. The video above is roughly 9 minutes long. If you are looking for a shorter video, the video below is roughly 4 minutes in length.

THE DAYTON ARCADE The Hub makes up roughly 100,000 square feet of the total 1,000,000 square feet of the historic Dayton Arcade. Out of the nine interconnecting buildings that make up the Dayton Arcade, The Hub occupies the McCory building, the second and third floor Rotunda building, and part of the 4th Street and Ludlow buildings. If you are interested in more information about the Dayton Arcade, please be sure to visit https://arcade.daytonhistoryproject.org/ - a website created by UD history students in Dr. James Todd Uhlman's capstone history course. You can also check out Part I of the ThinkTV documentary Waking the Giant below.

The video above is roughly 30 minutes. If you are interested in a short video, the one below is roughly three minutes.

OFFICERND For all room reservations and bookings, The Hub uses OfficeRnD to manage the physical space. All faculty, staff, and students using the space will be added to OfficeRnD at the beginning of each semester. While your classrooms will be reserved for you in partnership with UD's Registrar, you will be able to reserve additional meeting and conference rooms through OfficeRnD. Periodically, you will receive updates about events and programming happening at The Hub through the platform as well. To access your account, visit https://thehubdayton.officernd.com/login and login using your udayton email, and your OfficeRnD password. If you have not created a password, click "forgot password" to establish one.

SALTO The Hub uses the SALTO System as its access control platform for keyless entry. By downloading the "JustIn" mobile app on your cellular device, you will be able to access the building and the appropriate classrooms and meeting spaces. In order to acquire the virtual keys through the "JustIn Mobile" app, you must be sure your mobile number is included on your OfficeRnD profile and includes the country code (e.g. +19372104572). Once you have downloaded the app, and your phone number is correctly registered in OfficeRnD, a virtual key will appear. This key will get you access to the main entrance of The Hub (the access panel is located on the far right door next to the display case), the entrance to The Hub from Startup Grounds (the access panel is on the left wall next to the double doors), and the entrance to the basement from Startup Grounds (the access panel is on the right side of the door leading to the basement stairs). To use the app, click on the round green virtual key and hold your phone to the access panel. After a few seconds, the panel should turn green notifying you that your access has been granted and the door is now open.
