CROWN
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
A Letter From the Coach Thank you for your interest in Crown College and our women’s basketball program. I am excited that you are interested in continuing your education and your basketball career at our institution. I had the privilege of participating in competitive athletics while pursuing my degree and it changed my life. I believe you will find your collegiate experience to be much the same. Choosing which college to attend can be a long, intimidating process, but I firmly believe that if you let God lead the process, you will find the next four years to be the most transformational of your life! Our staff is dedicated to assisting you in achieving both your academic and athletic goals. With those goals in mind, our primary objective will be to see you graduate and pursue your career plans. We also want to prepare you to both serve and influence the world in whatever field you choose to serve your Savior. There is no greater mission field than the one right outside our doors. We promote a balance between academics, athletics, and your social experience on campus. No one wants to win more than I do, but at the cornerstone of our program’s philosophy is placing athletics in its proper perspective. I want you to be able to leave our program after you earned your degree and leverage your athletic experience into the career you want. Please be aware we are a Christian program that is not ashamed in promoting what we believe. We hold team devotions, attend church services, corporately pray, conduct service projects, and regularly attend chapel services on campus. We are intent in graduating young women of faith, unashamed to take on the mission outlined for all believers in Matthew 28:19-20. No matter where you are in your relationship with Christ, we want to provide a stimulating environment that promotes Christian spiritual growth. Our basketball program is looking for recruits that are willing to sacrifice individual accomplishment for team success by empowering personal contribution. Team success is not our greatest goal, unless it comes as a by-product of developing strong Christian women that are progressing toward a degree. We have a current roster of Christian women who wish to grow in their relationship with Christ, receive a great education, and play basketball. I hope you learn to love Crown College as I have. Like our current players, I hope that you find Crown College to be home for the next four years. We believe we are building something special in our basketball program and we want you to be a part of it!

“Crown basketball has helped me learn more abstract qualities of a leader, more about myself as both a person and basketball player, and allowed me to see how God really works everyday in my life. Through my obstacles I have learned that building a family is hard but the outcome is worth it. I have built lifelong relationships on this team that will carry on into my life after basketball. I appreciate my experience and plan to become even better as the years progress.”
DE LA OSSA Tuscon, AZ
“I can say with 100% confidence that the transition from high school to college in two different states could not have been easier for me here at Crown. Being apart of Crown’s mission to seek Christ has been incredibly rewarding, and having a band of teammates who push me to fulfill that mission everyday has been a blessing. I look forward to representing my Crown jersey in the future.”
ANDREA BESA Senior
Seguin, TX “Playing basketball at Crown has not only help me improve as a player, but also as a leader, student, and believer in Christ. Crown has provided me with an unimaginable amount of opportunities. I am definitely looking forward to my future at Crown!”

MADISON STRICKLIN Senior
San Jose, CA “I am very proud of what our team was able to accomplish this season. This team is always there for one another and that’s what makes us family. We all have a sincere passion for the game and play for His glory, no matter the outcome.”
Crown basketball was never just about playing basketball for me. Playing for this team had shaped my life in so many ways. From my teammates to the coaching staff I have learned what it means to be a strong and a confident women on and off the court. Playing at Crown gave me the chance to be a part of other activities and grow long lasting friendships that I will never forget. Crown gave me a chance to grow a personal relationship with Christ also. During my time at Crown I was able to attend NCAA conferences, hold multiple UMAC leadership positions, and be able to be a dual sport athlete by playing volleyball for Crown also. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in communications and a marketing minor. I’m currently working on my masters in business administration and working on my own graphic design business (SAM). Sports gave me the chance to meet new people and guide my future in the right direction. I hope to continue my passion for sports and marketing into the future.
