STUDENT VOICE

Tell us what you think so that together we can make a positive difference to your college.

We want you to be involved in discussing and deciding on things that affect your experience at college. We want you to influence what we do and how we develop new ideas.

Student Voice is about:

Listening to your concerns, interests and needs

Involving you in discussions that are relevant and important to you

Making changes as a result of what you say

Student Representatives

Each course or tutor group will elect one or two students to be their Student Representatives.

By becoming a Student Rep you will be a spokesperson for your peers and have the opportunity to influence the College’s environment and education provision.

Your course group will elect their Student Reps during a tutorial session at the beginning of term.

Student Reps gain a lot of experience to add to their CV or Personal Statements, and are issued with special lanyards to identify them to their fellow students.

Student Committee

Student Reps are collectively known as the Student Committee – the ‘voice’ of the College. The Committee meets at least once a term at each campus to discuss issues that are important to you and your peers.

Student Executive Team (Croydon and Coulsdon)

Each September, on each campus, a group of students are elected into positions on the Student Executive Team. These groups meet every two weeks to discuss current issues and plan actions on campus.

The role of the Student Executive Team is to represent the views of their campus’ Student Body to senior management about student life, the services and facilities in the College. The Student Executive Team is chaired by the Student President, and this team run the Student Union on a day to day basis.

Student Union

Every student is automatically a member of Croydon College’s Student Union (CCSU) when they enrol. The Union is run by students and is here to represent you throughout your studies. We gather feedback from students about the College, co-ordinate campaigns, attend college meetings, organise activities, raise funds for charity, and liaise with the National Union of Students (NUS).

Information about the Student Union’s activities and events will be published on notice boards, plasma screens and on Moodle.

If you have feedback for them about the college, or would like to get involved with the work of the Union, please email:
