Business Crime Project Manager – Job Description Job title: Business Crime Project Manager Responsible to: Chief Executive Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 Hours: Full time, 9.00am – 5.30pm (Monday – Friday with some evening and weekend work required) Contract: Maternity cover (12 months) Company overview Croydon Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID) is a ground breaking private sector led initiative, working with business in the Croydon Town Centre area in order to improve the town centre as a place to work, live and visit. Croydon BID covers an area of approximately 1,500 businesses; of which c.550 contribute financially through an annual levy of 1% creating an annual budget of £1million for Croydon Town Centre BID. The financial contribution is used to support key projects to improve Croydon Town Centre with a focus on five key priorities: Investing in your safety; delivering brighter streets; helping you in and around; bringing businesses together; creating a great impression. Role Overview The Business Crime Project Manager will oversee the successful delivery of our safety initiatives including the Croydon Business Crime Reduction Partnership, its accompanying steering groups and the Croydon BID Radio Link. The Business Crime Project Manager will play a vital role in supporting the Head of Operations on reducing crime and anti-social behaviour in the town centre with innovative and well thought through solutions. You will be expected to support the development of the Business Crime Partnership, increasing membership, engagement and interaction as a collective network working side by side with Croydon BID. The role must deliver regular communications to its members, keeping them updated and informed on current activities, projects and success stories. Furthermore the role includes the development of events, workshops and training sessions aimed at providing further value to our levy payers, members and stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing and administering the Croydon BID Radio Link, a new initiative designed to improve the communication between businesses and the intelligence sharing network. Main Duties Croydon Business Crime Reduction Partnership          

Develop the overall Croydon Business Crime Reduction Partnership business plan Implement the CBCP delivery plan, successfully overseeing the operational budget Develop and implement a CBCP membership recruitment, engagement and interaction strategy Identify and deliver innovative schemes to support the reduction of crime in areas such as the night time economy, retail and leisure Regularly update the CBCP intranet site Manage and administer all watch groups as part of CBCP Monitor and report on crime related issues affecting Croydon Town Centre To ensure CBCP members comply with the CBCP protocols Manage the exclusion notice scheme and appeal process Provide regular reports on levels of crime in Croydon Town Centre at regular intervals Croydon Town Centre BID Ltd

Develop a series of business and public engagement events to support the reduction in crime including one to many training events Consider options for the growth and expansion of the CBCP across identified areas of the borough

Croydon BID Radio Link       

Oversee, manage and administer the Croydon BID Radio Link Develop a strategy to promote the Croydon BID Radio Link Increase the level of Croydon BID Radio Link users in circulation Process all Croydon BID Radio Link application forms Facilitate the increased usage of the Croydon BID Radio Link by acting as a super user of the scheme, monitoring its traffic and considering ways to improve intelligence sharing Work with and co-ordinate the relationship between Croydon BID and our radio providers Support all members of the Croydon BID Radio Link, trouble-shooting where appropriate

Marketing & Communications    

Produce regular communications to all CBCP members, Police and other agencies Produce a regular e-update on progress made by CBCP for all CBCP members Oversee, upload and manage ‘Investing in your safety’ content for all Croydon BID social media platforms and Croydon BID website platforms Working with the Marketing & Communications Manager, produce regular PR stories for local media

Person Specification Essential             

Experience of working in a membership orientated organisation preferable but not essential Experience of working with a wide range of organisations from the private and public sectors (including statutory providers) Knowledge and understanding of the issues local to Croydon Town Centre Knowledge and understanding of crime related issues within an urban setting Experience of developing and delivering initiatives designed to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour Experience of managing a membership portfolio/ organisation Excellent people and communication skills Excellent team player with the ability to work independently Understanding and ability to manage a CRM system Excellent organisations skills Experience of writing reports and proposals Experience of producing meeting papers IT skills (Microsoft Office)

Experience of managing projects Business and commercial awareness Ability to work well under pressure
