If anything sums up the freedom of your cruise, it is the array of places to eat, from healthy to hearty, from light bites to haute cuisine. The only challenge is deciding what to order, when so much catches the eye. You’ll find classics like tender lobster or melt-in-themouth chateaubriand. Often what’s being offered reflects where you are in the world, as our chefs make use of fresh, local ingredients. Whether your accommodation means you’re dining in the Britannia® Restaurant or the Princess Grill or Queens Grill restaurant, everything is beautifully presented and offered with wines that complement your meal perfectly. You’ll also find many tempting vegetarian dishes and we’ll happily cater to most special dietary requirements. On all three ships, buffet-style dining is available throughout the day and until late evening. For a modest surcharge, you can have a change of culinary scenery from your main restaurant and ‘dine out.’

Afternoons are for more than just tea.

Each day you’re on board offers almost endless opportunities to try something new. From fencing on Queen Victoria to watercolour painting on Queen Elizabeth, you’ll be spoilt for ways to brush up on existing talents or to discover ones you never knew you possessed. If you’re more a fan of quiet contemplation, lose yourself in any one of the thousands of books in the largest libraries at sea. Take a stroll around the promenade deck — perhaps you’ll spot a dolphin or two. Or simply people watch from the comfort of a poolside hot tub. Whatever you’re drawn to, you need no invitation. Creating your own to-do list from all of the day’s possibilities is just part of the fun, as is sharing your findings with fellow guests. Dance lessons

broadcasters and politicians — even the occasional astronaut. All have joined us as part of our Cunard Insights® enrichment programme — hugely popular events listed in our Daily Programme.

The Royal Spa

A celebration of the senses.

Thermal suites for languishing, relaxing spa pools for dipping and vast ocean views to get lost in. Welcome to the Royal Spas on board Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth and Canyon Ranch SpaClub® on Queen Mary 2 (one of the largest spas at sea). Take a deep breath and be revived by the scent of eucalyptus and the sound of the bubbling hydrotherapy bath. Between a soak in the whirlpool and a tête-à-tête with friends, you can immerse yourself in a favourite novel or simply drift in and out of sleep on a warm tile bed. Slow the pace even further in our Retreat Lounge. Listen to piano music before having a full body massage — our well-trained therapists await.

On Queen Mary 2, Canyon Ranch SpaClub takes tranquility to the next level. From exotic Ayurveda and Thai treatments to the ultimate indulgence — a cleansing Rasul Ceremony for couples. These havens of relaxation are also the place for a manicure and hair styling, ready to turn heads at the evening ball.

Feel fit as a fiddle. If you want to get a head start on working off tonight’s crème brulée, our well-appointed fitness hub and gym will help keep you in shape. Those after an active hour or two will appreciate the power-motor machines, toning kits and ergonomic weights. Our experienced personal trainers are also available to offer guidance in reaching your fitness goals. You may wish to perfect some of your favourite stretches on the yoga mats, or just pretend you’re walking on water as you exercise on our sea-view treadmills. Of course, for those preferring to take in the fresh ocean air, there’s always the option of a power walk or jog around the promenade deck. 17

A night on the town.

Evenings on board offer so many pleasures — deciding where to dine, choosing whether to dance, mingle or take in a show — and then there’s the fun of dressing for the occasion. Formal nights usually involve a themed Ball and account for about a third of your days on board. Many of our guests sail with Cunard precisely because they love an excuse to step out in style. For the other, non-formal evenings the dress code is smart yet relaxed — think cocktail dresses and jackets but no ties. Guests who prefer to dress more casually are always welcome to dine in the Lido restaurants or Kings Court and to unwind for the evening in the Carinthia Lounge or Garden Lounge.

Every evening is a real event. Be entertained by singers, magicians, comedians and Broadway-calibre shows in the full-sized Royal Court Theatre

Frequent Enquiries

A Cunard cruise promises wonderful times and a lifetime of memories. To ensure the most superb vacation possible, you’ll want to be sure you’re well prepared before you depart. Here are answers to some of the questions you may have about a Cunard cruise. For more details on any of these questions, please visit Cunard.com, contact your Travel Consultant or call us at 1800 103 0306.

What’s included in my fare? All fares include accommodations as booked, onboard meals* and entertainment. Fares are per person based on double occupancy and are cruise only, excluding air and transfers. Fares do not include Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses, gratuities, CunardCare travel protection or incidental charges such as laundry, bar expenses, spa and salon treatments, shore excursions, etc.

Can guests with disabilities travel? All guests requiring specific assistance, facilities or equipment on board, or wishing to bring such equipment on board, must advise Cunard Line at the time of booking and are requested to complete a questionnaire after booking to ensure we have all the information we need to cater adequately for your requirements. If you need to bring a wheelchair or mobility scooter on board with you, it is essential that you let us know at the time of booking or as soon as the need is known. Any guests requiring the use of a wheelchair, mobility scooter or other aids to mobility must provide their own. For the safety of everyone on board and the ship, all wheelchairs, scooters and other aids to mobility, as is the case with all other guest possessions, must be stored inside your stateroom when not in use. Failure to comply with this important safety rule may mean you will be disembarked and refused future travel. A part-time wheelchair user travelling in a non-wheelchair accessible stateroom must bring a collapsible wheelchair to ensure it can safely fit through the stateroom door and be accommodated in the stateroom. It is not possible to make structural changes to the stateroom layout. Cunard Line reserves the right to require guests who have booked a wheelchairaccessible stateroom without legitimate reason to move, at their own expense, if necessary. Mobility scooters will only be permitted on board if guests have booked into a wheelchair accessible stateroom, or a suite, as these are the only types of accommodation where mobility scooters can safely be stored. The minimum door width of suites is 53 cm (21 in). The minimum door width of the wheelchair accessible staterooms is 80 cm (31 in). At the time of booking, please let us know if you intend on bringing a mobility scooter with you, and we will in turn provide you with a questionnaire for completion to ensure that the accommodation you have booked is appropriate. Please note that our wheelchair accessible staterooms are strictly reserved for guests who are bringing wheelchairs or mobility scooters or who have a requirement for the adapted facilities offered by these staterooms.

A ship is not always the easiest environment for using a wheelchair or mobility scooter. Although our crew is helpful, they are only able to provide limited assistance to help you in moving around the ship. For this reason, and in order to ensure the safety of the guests, the ship and all others on board, we recommend that guests with disabilities who require personal assistance in the activities of daily living, including pushing a wheelchair or communication support, be accompanied by a personal assistant/travelling companion to provide these services. Blind/ Visually Impaired guests are recommended to travel with a companion who can help you get your bearings and assist you both on board and ashore. Our crew can provide limited arm assistance and information or directions, but we cannot provide sustained or longterm assistance. Please note that, due to applicable safety requirements, the design of the ship or port infrastructure and equipment, in certain ports of call it may not be possible for us to offer a shore excursion programme, or shuttle bus service, suitable for guests who are not able to board a coach via the steps with only the aid of their travelling companion. Cunard Line reserves the right to refuse passage to any guest who has failed to notify Cunard Line of their requirement for special treatment or assistance (including the requirement to use a wheelchair or mobility scooter). For further information about travelling with disabilities, please contact us 1800 103 0306 (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm PT) or contact us by email at helpdesk@cruiseprofessionals.in.

Do you hold emergency drills on board? Cunard ships are among the safest afloat. An emergency drill for guests will be held before the ship sails from her embarkation port on each cruise. Attendance at these drills is mandatory in accordance with International Maritime Law. In your stateroom, you will find a black folder containing safety information which describes the emergency procedures and designates the route for the passenger assembly station to which you have been assigned. In addition to actively participating in the drills, you are urged to study this information carefully and familiarise yourself with the use of life jackets, which are provided for every guest. Children’s life jackets are available from your stateroom steward.

*Excludes certain specialty areas of Kings Court and Lido in the evening and The Verandah where surcharges apply.

For full details, please visit Cunard.com/FAQs 71

General Information Responsibility Transportation of guests and baggage on Cunard is governed by the Cunard Passage Contract, a copy of which will be included with your preliminary documents and is also available upon request. The Passage Contract represents the entire agreement between Cunard and the guest. It is important that you carefully read the entire Passage Contract, as it sets out the rights and responsibilities of Cunard and the guest. Cunard shall have the right to cancel or alter in any way any scheduled sailing or itinerary which, in its sole judgment and discretion, is justified for any reason and to do so without liability for damage or for any loss to guests. Cunard also reserves the right, in the event of a full-ship charter or for any other reason, to cancel reservations and bookings whether or not a deposit or full payment has been received. In such an event, Cunard’s only liability will be to refund to guests the amount it has received. The guest is responsible for arriving at the respective ports on time for embarkation and for joining the vessel at its next port of call if, for any reason, a scheduled sailing is missed. Cunard reserves the right to refuse or discontinue passage to anyone when, in Cunard’s sole judgment, it would be considered a risk to the guest’s own safety, well-being and health or a risk to the safety, well-being, comfort and enjoyment of any other guest or crewmember.

Onboard Credit If you are due to receive Onboard Credit this will be applied to your account on the first night of your cruise. Onboard Credit cannot be used for any of the following: cash back, casino/gambling charges, foreign exchange, any medical services/prescriptions, charities or for payment of International Visas. This also applies to any gift credits that may be applied to your account. CunardCare We recommend that all guests purchase some form of travel protection that includes cancellation and interruption coverages as well as medical expenses and emergency evacuation benefits. For your convenience, we offer CunardCare, a package of benefits comprised of the CunardCare Cancellation Fee Waiver, the CunardCare Travel Insurance and the CunardCare Worldwide Emergency Assistance Programs designed for our most valued guests. Baggage and valuables Though we take reasonable care in the handling of baggage, Cunard’s responsibility for lost, damaged or misplaced baggage and other personal property is limited by the Passage Contract. Cunard Line is not responsible for camera equipment, laptops, cash or other similarly fragile and valuable items contained in checked or unchecked baggage. These items, as well as medications and prescriptions in their original packaging, should be carried on and off the ships by the guests themselves. Safedeposit boxes or in-room safes are available free of charge on board. For your safety, all guests and all baggage must pass a security checkpoint.

Children travelling with an adult Children under 21 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Please confirm minimum age restrictions at the time of booking. Embarkation/disembarkation The ship generally will be available for embarkation four hours before the scheduled sailing time. Due to limited facilities, guests should not arrive earlier than the embarkation time noted on final documents. On disembarkation day, staterooms must be vacated at the time advised by the Hotel Manager. Once customs and immigration clearance has been completed, guests making their own air arrangements should allow three to four hours for transfer time to the airport. Cunard Line offers optional transfers and hospitality services to the port on embarkation day. Group transfers and service use motor coaches or minibuses; private transfers use luxury sedans for one to three guests or luxury club vans for four to eight guests. Where available, hospitality services provide you with transfers from your incoming flight to a deluxe hotel at which point your luggage is transported from the hotel directly to the ship. You are free to relax and enjoy the comforts of a Cunard hospitality room and use the hotel as a base from which to explore. Contact your Travel Consultant or call us at 1800 103 0306 for more information. Guests with disabilities/special diets Guests with disabilities are welcome aboard Cunard vessels. Due to the configuration of our ships, however, wheelchair users and individuals with sight impairments may experience some difficulties in accessing certain areas. Where any individual would be unable to be safely and comfortably accommodated, we suggest that the guest be accompanied by a companion. Some ports of call require tenders to go ashore and may preclude guests using a wheelchair from leaving the vessel; this decision must be made by the ship’s Captain and is binding. Upon notification by a guest with a disability, Cunard Reservations will provide stateroom and bathroom doorway widths and other pertinent access limitations on board the vessels. Cunard is pleased to permit individuals to bring service animals on board. In order to make appropriate arrangements, notice that a guest will be travelling with an animal must be provided at the time of booking. Local laws or customs may prevent animals from disembarking at particular ports and countries. It is the guest’s obligation to obtain all documents/health certificates that may be required. Consult local customs authorities for information and requirements. Guests with conditions requiring ongoing medical assistance may be asked to have their physician provide a confidential certification form to ensure that they may travel safely. If guests have special dietary needs, Cunard must be advised at time of booking or, at the latest, six weeks before sailing. Every effort will be made to comply with such requests. Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses The term “Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses”, as used by us, may include any and all fees, charges, tolls and taxes imposed on us by governmental or quasi-governmental authorities, as well as third party fees and charges arising from a vessel’s presence in a harbour or port. Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses may include U.S. Customs fees, head taxes, Panama Canal tolls, dockage fees, wharfage fees, inspection fees, pilotage, air taxes, hotel or VAT taxes incurred as part of a land tour, immigration and naturalisation fees, and Internal Revenue Service fees. Port Expenses include fees paid to third parties for navigation, berthing, stevedoring, baggage handling/storage and security services. Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses may be assessed per passenger, per berth, per ton or per vessel. Assessments calculated on a per ton or per vessel basis will be spread over the number of passengers on the Ship. Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses are subject to change and Cunard reserves the right to collect any increases in effect at the time of sailing even if the fare has already been paid in full. Cunard ® Complete Air Programme, booking procedures, identification and refunds Guests purchasing flights under the Cunard® CompleteAir Programme may select either Flexible or Restricted fares that offer differing levels of flexibility. Guests booked on Restricted fares are required to pay for their flights in full at the time of booking.
