EDITOR’S NOTES
Crunkatlanta Magazine 2017
Who is Crunkatlanta? I am Eric aka Crunkatlanta & Promotewho.com - The Internet Promoter, the one that is in love with Hip Hop. Follow me on Twitter @crunkatlantaMag . Born and raised in Detroit, MI. Yep, I'm from Seven Mile Rd and GreenfieldWhuddup Doe!! My first inspiration to get involved in the industry was when I found out that nobody heard of any Detroit rappers outside of Detroit ( Michigan). My first gig was with a friend (“T”) that I assisted with promoting Cam’ron back in 1997. From there I found what my purpose was supposed to be. My all time fantasy career was to become a quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons. Once that dream was cut short from not getting the response back from -tryouts and competition over the years. I became hooked on music and brand marketing. http://www.crunkatlanta.com ( Promo page )

Tiffany Bleu Releases Zaytoven Produced 'Outta Da Bleu' EP
Atlanta songbird Tiffany Blue releases her infectious 6-track Zaytoven produced EP. With her soft angelic voice paired with insanely sharp harmonics, Bleu shows a body of work with classic Rhythm & ‘Bleucentric’ attitude with songs like “Lick It” and “Lifestyle” Tiffany Bleu is the first act to be signed to Zaytoven’s label, Motown and Capital’s Familiar Territory Records. Under the label, Bleu dropped her first single, “Smile” this past December, 2017. That single, alongside her budding humility, fighting spirit and amazing dedication towards her passion for the industry was just the buzz-starter she needed to take off and she hasn’t looked back yet. From opening for the world-renown Chris Brown, to performing at LA’s legendary House of Blues, to completing Zaytoven’s nationwide tour of the TrapHolizay album, Tiffany Bleu has proven to be the breath of fresh air the industry lacked.

CRUNKATLANTA 30
QUESTIONS
1. How long have you been doing what you’re doing and how did you get started in the first place? •I've been rapping for as long as I can remember. I started by mimicking lyrics of famous artists, rehearsing them and sing them to a croud. It was harmless fun and people enjoyed that I could remember a whole song from beginning to end. Then at the age of 12, I started writing my own material. I'm now 22 so it's been 10 years since I started.
2. Who were the first influences on your music and style? • Eminem and Lil Wayne have been a huge influence to me. Eminem with the flow, Lil Wayne with the punchlines and metaphors. I'd say my style is mixture of them both with a little bit of Tupac. 3. In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why? • Hip Hop is quite a huge genre with a big landscape and a pool of successful artist. If I had to choose one, I'd say Drizzy Drake. I think Drake is very influential because he is a flexible artist and can make great music on any type of beat. Which is why he so successful today.
4. Which famous song or sound production, ultimately describes what you’d like your music productions to sound like? • Drake ft Lil Wayne - HYFR.. Young Money sound
5. Do you think your music is mostly enjoyed more for the beats or for the lyrical flow and content? • People tell me they enjoy the lyrics and that my voice sounds good. Luckily I make good beat choices all the time so that's a bonus.
Crunkatlanta.Rageon.com
CRUNKATLANTA MAGAZINE 6. Do you make your own beats and write your own lyrics? If yes what software or equipment do you prefer using? • I write my own lyrics and to write a song can take me just a day, or a maximum of three weeks. Depends on how inspired I am by the beat or concept. I don't make beats because I can't make beats. I prefer to stick to my lane and get the whole crew eating. Teedo A.k.A T-Blast from Butterworth here in the Eastern Cape makes most of my beats . If you don’t do any of this by yourself, how do you get this done? 7. If you could choose to work with some of today’s established artists or producers, to move your game to the top, with whom would you like to collaborate? • I'd love to work with Nasty C , Anathii and/or A-Reece. These are young artists from South Africa making the culture grow like I'm doing. 8. Which latest songs, videos or mixtapes releases are currently available to your fans and where can they be heard or downloaded? • You can download my latest mixtape on datpiff.com titled 'Rap Factor 5FM' where I go hard on beats and proving my rapping abilities. here is the link: http://piff.me/5d2b263 You can also follow me on soundcloud.com/blaqverse where I have most of my music. 9. Which ingredient do you think is most essential in making your sound and style the way it is? •Its belief. Believing there will be a better tomorrow. Believing in freedom. Believing in dreams do come true. Believing in God and beliving in myself. My style is all about uplifting the youth and helping people make better decisions in life. Some people say my music is 'food for the soul'. 10. What led to your style of delivery and beat-selection?? • I don't come from a rich family, but nevertheless we survived pretty well. So I know hunger and I know wealth. I know pain and I know pleasure. I stick to the basics of rap while adding my own flavour. My delivery has a bit of where I shout at the microphone so the listeners can understand how I'm feeling about a particular topic. Sometimes I write my verses in the form of an essay where I have an introduction, body, and conclusion. Refer to my songs titled 'Heat It Up' and 'Mine Forever'. I choose the beat according the song I need to write, or how good I sound on it.
CRUNKATLANTA MAGAZINE 11. What aspect of the music making process excites you most, and what aspect discourages you the most? • The recording part. Yerrr, I could stay in the studio for a whole month making music and never get tired of it. I love recording, but after recording and trying to sell a song that becomes a milestone. I feel like my fans follow my music but don't actually go out they way to buy the music. I don't blame them, it's just a system that's been implemented making music an easy free way for listeners and all. I believe it will change to accommodate growing artists. So no, I'm not discouraged at all. 12. How involved are you in the recording, producing, mastering, marketing, and other processes needed to make and sell your music, and do you outsource any part of these processes? • I believe that teamwork makes the dream work. I'm an artist, and my main priority is to make a good product. I stay at the studio with the producers to ensure that the song is what It should be, but when working with experienced and skillful producers we end up with a final mix that's way more incredible. That's as far as I go, if the product is good then it's less harder to sell.. I work with two companies, called illchane Studio and Class Television but there is nothing on paper yet. We only developing each other and they help me get my name out there. 13. Do you think the advent of Internet and all the new technology has helped your music and independent musicians in general, or do you think it just creates a mass of mediocre “copycats” who flood the web, making it difficult to distinguish yourself? • This is a hard question. I think the Internet and these new apps popping up is a good thing because now I can market my own music and create my own platforms independently. Now I have fans in different places of Africa, all the way to USA. Without the Internet I don't think that would've been possible at this stage in my career. I don't mind these copy cat rappers because I know that no one can ever copy my life. If I keep pushing I know someone important will eventually notice my talent and take me seriously, with or without the Internet. Straight up, someone else would beg to differ 14. In your experience thus far, what is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed? And one you didn’t follow, but now know for sure that you should have? • The best piece of advice I got was to learn how to do things by myself and not to fully rely on other people to do things for me. The same person told me if I want to succeed in this business I have to remain humble, not step on the wrong toes, choose the right crowd and I will win the hearts of the people. I'm still working on it.
CRUNKATLANTA MAGAZINE The advice I should've taken was "be patient" . Then for sure I wouldn't have dropped out of school if I understood that good things take time. Luckily God gave me another chance and I registered again at a college nearby to get a proper education first. 15. Being an independent artist, which is the one factor, above all else, that you currently desire most (increased music distribution, better quality production, more media exposure, more club and live performances etc…)? • I'd like more club and live performances because they bring in the quap and that overall increases everything else. Because I got more money for better quality production and increased music distribution. 16. Where do you distribute and promote your music (Amazon, iTunes, CD Baby, Your own Website, YouTube etc…) and why do you think this channel works best for you? • I distribute my music on all the platforms but the most popular one in South Africa is iTunes so I try to put my focus on it first. 17. How important do you think video is to your music, and how do you produce your videos? • I make videos for the songs I only believe are hit songs.. IllChane Studio is the one that helps me make my music videos. All I have to do is come up with a concept, and I let the crew worry about the budget to ensure that everything necessary is available and everyone is happy. 18. Is going Platinum or winning a Grammy important to you, and If you were forced to make only one choice, which of the two would you choose and why? • Grammy award winner? I like the sound of that. Winning a Grammy would mean my music is recognised on an international level and i'll be considered as one of the best in the world. Going platinum after that would be a no brainer. 19. What in your opinion is the biggest barrier an artist like yourself, has to face and overcome, to gain any commercial success? • Money, with money a lot of things can be done much quickly. 20. In closing, tell us something about any projects and ideas you have in store or are already working on? • Yo, I busy collecting mad beats for my new album. I'll be dropping a single first, November this year which will be accommodated by a music video. Then the album which still doesn't have a release date. Probably early next year titled "Straight Out The East"
CRUNKATLANTA MAGAZINE 21. What got you into music? • My uncle's used to play reggae music loud on speakers everyday, so I'd sing them songs at school and whenever I'm bored until I enjoyed singing and rhyming with words and started making my own. 22. What's the most important item in your music collection? •It's got to be the stand or case, with a good case the music can last much longer. 23. How would you describe yourself as an artist? • I got that old school flows on new school beats. I'm a mixture of the old and the new. 24. How do you think you differ from other artists? • I try to improve the thinking processes of the people, especially young people so that we can lead better lives. Other artists in my genre mostly promote drugs, prostitution and violence instead of God, Love and peace. 25. What’s the last track you listened to? • Nasty C - Send Me Away (ft Rowlene) 26. Who do you think the most influential artist in Africa Hip-Hop is? • Cassper Nyovest 27. What’s your guilty pleasure? • I like house music 28. Hip Hop outside of the USA, Do you have any favorites? •Outside the USA? Then it's South African artists such as; AKA, A-Reece, Sjava and Emtee Da Hustler 29. What drives you to complete your craft ? • The thought of everyone listening to the song when it plays on radio or MTV 30. Flashing money, the women and the cars in videos - Do you think many just dont have creative ideas or is this what they believe fans want to see? • They don't have creative ideas

Bass Santana - Curse ft. XXXTENTACION, Coolie Cut & Kin$oul (Remix) This song is a different take of the famous song off of Members Only Volume 3 as the artist Nikko Blanco is speaking to God and said he disappointed him and let him down and goes on from there then takes on a very lyrical standpoint and allegorical to the logic that he views is the truth.

Today marks the release of Ebenezer’s new track “53 Sundays”. Listen HERE. The song is a statement in itself, showcasing not only Ebenezer’s musical talent but also his lyrical, storytelling abilities. He’s not afraid of sharing his views and reflecting on the reality of the world he grew up in. Ebenezer’s distinctive sound shines through the track - despite hailing from London it’s uniquely universal, taking listeners on a poignant journey. “Sometimes we must acknowledge that in order to do something good we might have to do something bad. Religion wasn’t going to put food on the table and money in the pockets of those I cared about, so I had to get it by an 'any means necessary’ attitude. So excuse me if I miss the corruption that goes on in the churches - I’ve got some hustling to do,” says Ebenezer. “53 Sundays” follows Ebenezer’s recent single “When I Call Em” featuring A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. Listen HERE. Ebenezer has been steadily making a name for himself, working with artists such as ADP, B Young, Stefflon Don, Jeremih, Ty Dolla $ign and Craig David. In 2017, he ushered in new fans through a string of releases: “F**K IT”, “Survival” and “Cliché”. He followed up in February 2018 with the release of his debut EP Bad Romantic. The record put Ebenezer against himself, uncovering both his romantic and “savage” tendencies and proving that his creative artistry is as intense as his delivery. Ebenezer’s forthcoming project is due out this summer.
