Scouting in Life Venturing has been huge in my everyday life since I was 14. I joined because I wanted to make friends, learn new things, and go on adventures. I had been told many times throughout my years in Venturing that scouting will always pop up when least expected. Honestly, no one would actually predict that to happen, BUT it does. I am a freshman at Northern Kentucky University and currently enrolled in a University 101 class. This class is designed to help freshman adjust to the college atmosphere. We were sitting in class, discussing the chapter and I saw something on the page that looked familiar. I took a closer look and it said SMART Goals. If you have participated in National Youth Leadership Training, you’ll be able to note that this is from the course! I had never dreamt of seeing something such as SMART Goals in a classroom one day and it made me realize that you will use your skills from scouting in your everyday life. -Olivia Stacey, Area 6 Vice President of Program

Join the Area 6 VOA! Have you ever thought about becoming part of the Area 6 Venturing Officers Association (VOA)? Area 6 VOA elections will be taking place very soon. We are looking for individuals that enjoy Venturing, are outgoing and love to have fun. The VOA organizes two events a year for Area 6 in the Central Region. We are tasked with putting on a training event and also a fun event. This year we chose to do both in a single event. Being part of the Area 6 VOA is about learning your position in the VOA and then reaching out to all the Councils that are part of our Area. While holding the events, you get to show your skills and leadership Venturing has taught you. During the events, you also get to meet some really great people from all the councils and make some wonderful new friends. But most of all, you have a lot of FUN! Area 6 VOA applications were due by March 31, however if you are still interested please contact us quickly, for we will start the interview process soon. They should be emailed to myself Anne Zimmer, ajcjzimmerii@fuse.net and also to Venturing.NationalOfficers@scouting.org. Here is the Application : http://www.crventuring.org/document2.php?s=1&id=1048
