FOLLOW THE FOOTSTEPS OF ST. FRANCIS WITH AN EASTER RETREAT APRIL 22-24 A local retreat will be offered this coming Easter Season for those who wish to go deeper into the meaning of crucifixion and resurrection. Rev. Joseph Aubert quotes St. Francis: “There is a courageous dying, it is called effacement. That holy death unfolds our spirit’s wings and allows us to embrace God even as we stand on the earth.” During this time of inner journey, we will explore the training and effacement of the small self (the ego) through spiritual practices with breath, sacred sound, light, silence, story telling and laughter, so that we may be reborn into our true nature. Yaqin Joseph Aubert was initiated into the Sufi path of the unity of religious ideals by Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan in 1972. He is a founding member and former director of the Abode of the Message Sufi community since 1978. He is a teacher, storyteller, and Cherag (minister) in the Universal Worship. He is a mentor in the Suluk Academy, the core esoteric training of the Sufi Order International. The path of light is his heart’s calling. To register please call the Abode programs office at 518-794-8090, extension 114.
